Description Jen Tzepa
age
: 65
gender: male
height: 6'5"
weight: 323 lbs
hair: Black
eyes: Bright green
blood type: unknown
weapon: Whipsword
nationality: Romanian
race: Full-blooded Vampire

Arrogant and uptight, Jen once held the Schattenjager title of Second-Tier Hunter until it was usurped by newcomer Aden Delevoix. Jen's secretive nature about his Vampiric lineage is seemingly useless, though despite this he continues to put it on as though no one knows who, or what he is. Appearance, however, speaks volumes against his desperate denial of his bloodline.

Skilled in a fighting form that came to be known as the Scylla style (involving segmented, or whip-like swords), Jen's physical strength vastly surpasses that of any human or half-breed, being a full-blooded vampire. Despite this, though, he is far from fearless and is easily spooked by the littlest things.

Over-confident in his (sound) strength and ability, and eldest son of a Romanian noble, Jen is surprisingly green when it comes to working with others, as is evidenced by his lack of tact and brash demeanor that more often than not gets him into trouble. He joined the Organization after the apparent kidnapping of his betrothed, the French Noblesse Cinderella de Souvre the night before their wedding date. Concerned that a rival Vampire family or perhaps even Demons were behind her kidnapping, with his mother's well wishes he left the safety of his country to join the Guild that was dedicated to wiping his kind out. Howver, due to his family's long standing friendship with the Organization, Jen was accepted (after a large sum was paid by his parents, without his knowledge), and rose through the ranks swiftly to become the Second Tier Hunter. However, his position here didn't last long before it was usurped by newcomer Aden Delevoix , with whom he immediately started an intense (albeit one-sided) rivalry. This rivalry was likely started due Aden's sudden arrival, and Jen's subsequent sudden upheaval from his position ... and the fact that he had mistaken Aden for his missing betrothed.

Disturbed and uneasy that he does, in fact, feel vaguely attracted to the new second-tier hunter (whom he, along with the rest of the Organization, believes is MALE), he often gives himself peptalks in order to reassure himself of his sexuality. However, upon meeting one Alor Ivadelle his worries are, for the most part, put to rest.

Though outrightly denying any sort of care for his fellow Hunters, Jen does his best to save and protect them in time of need, but such "grueling sacrifices" don't come without a price. Should he ever get the chance to put another Hunter in a position where they owe him one, Jen never lets them live it down.

--------------------------

LOL Jen Ugh this one isn't as nice as the others and took longer, but I think it's because it's 5:00 in the morning and I am absolutely braindead. Oh well. Last in my character ref series for Schattenjager.

He always had a bird but I never decided what kind it was. Crows and Ravens are overdone, so the poor sucker gets a magpie instead

Yes, they live longer and look younger, hence "enjoying a longer prime" in their description XD It'd suck to hit 60, look old and be looking like Gandalf for the next 100 years.

So, out of curiosity: in this setting, do vampires and humans sometimes coexist peacefully, or is it pretty much all-out war (hence his having to hide his bloodlines)?

Magpie!

ultema In reply to CapnFlynn [2007-03-08 19:40:23 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes they do coexist peacefully. :3 Um, here's the description of them I haven't been able to put up for information yet. XD

"Vampires are not supernatural creatures. They are not undead. They cannot shapeshift. They do not fear crosses any more than anyone else, nor are effected by holy water, and tend to only get sleepy during the day. "Vampire" is simply a (mostly deragatory) name given to the next evolutionary step to the normal human being. The differences between a "Vampire" and a "human", include the Vampire's greater height, weight and strength, longer prime and lifespan, bone and muscle density, slightly wolfish features, pointier eartips, stronger teeth, ability to see better in the dark (and therefore, nocturnal traits), and the ability to eat raw or spoiled foods ( and because of that, technically their ability to drink blood).

"Vampires" come from all corners of the world as well. They tend to live in colonies of other Vampires, mostly their own Families (and "Family" is the word used to describe a colony of Vampires, whether or not they are all related) and the families of those that they trust. Trust in the Vampire world is few and far between, despite their initial coming together to protect themselves from the armed "human" mob, the Vampire families have begun fighting amongst themselves, due to those that wish to repair the bridge between human and Vampire, and those that have become bitter and are willing to keep the fiendish nickname and image in order to punish the weaker, but more numerous mundane human.

Among the Families that are attempting to regain the trust of humans are the influential ( and well-off) Tzepa Family of Romania. The eldest son of the Lady Tzepa, Jen, is one of the Organization's Top Tier agents, taking up the Third Tier shortly after he joined, following the apparent kidnapping of his betrothed, the French Noblesse, Cinderlla de Souvre, in an attempt to see if any opposing families or demons were behind the act."

So basically, He mostly tries to keep it to himself (despite being bad at it) because, while the Organization accepts him due to the fact that his family is known for trying to help (and large monetary sums ), there are those within it that absolutely do loathe Vampires and would cause more trouble than it's worth. Truth is a lot of the people that are in the organization have some percentage of it in their lineage (like Aden), but are unaware of it. Aden's one of those who are severely against Vampires and hates them with a passion. It mostly comes down to the individuals involved, but there are a lot of blanket statements because it just "makes things easier".

Thanks so much, my dear. Reworking ones that are supposed to be elaborate is good fun, especially when you can actually see the difference.

I love the coloring here. And I always think characters who question their sexuality when they don't know someone's gender are funny (ah wait, the only other time I saw a situation like this was a manga). Great work again

it's very good for a laugh if nothing more. Especially for someone so proud and set in his ways as poor Jen.

The designs are great, keep working on the colors relationship and the value control. Add more planning to those areas, they should be even more successful.

This guy looks kind of cool too, I am still not too sure what you are planning to do... are you writing or are you drawing a comic on this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

ultema In reply to mayshing [2007-03-06 17:56:55 +0000 UTC]

OH to answer your second question; this was originally a writing project of mine that'd I'd eventually like to turn into a comic once I practice my sequential again for a good long time.

Right now they're sort of just reference for myself as well as other people should Schattenjager win in the community character creation poll (which it looks like it's going to)
