MB3D not sure what to make of this one was playing with the preloaded parms CuttedSphereOnCarpet I replaced the tiling with heightmap and tried to replace the sphere with menger-1 and got this

Great. I believe the little diamonds effect is done by the height map, right? As when I check your parameters I have different output because I don't have the same height map. I don't think that map to diffuse the colours will do this.
