I second the comments of everyone else. The lighting, coloring, and textures of the main shape are superb.

The only issue I have is that the background competes for my attention. My eye bounces back and forth between the shape and background with no clear place to rest. Does this make sense?

Maybe the background is too similar in hues as the shape, or maybe too similar in luminosity...maybe it's just too busy? (just my thoughts...)

Otherwise, excellent shape and again, super coloring and textues.

Its beautiful, Graham. I love the FBM sky/cloud like texture in the background, the way the spiral hovers. Nice job masking in that orange glow behind it, its a pleasant highlight that gives the piece an etherial feel. The subtle texture masked in upon the green and yellow forms gives those shapes an organic feel. It all reminds me of autumn with your chosen color pallets. Fall leaves drifting in the breeze. Wonderfully done! The classes are really agreeing with you! :danve:
