A simple portrait of my druid half elf Gaeril for dnd beyond.

Gaeril is the son of a wood elf weaver and a human soldier. He never knew his father, and his father never knew him, but he lived a comfortable life with his mother in a elven community outside of Silverymoon. He grew up surrounded by beauty, but even so Gaeril more than many others know the ugly side of that very beauty. Because of his human heritage he was looked down on, ignored, even shunned by the others. His mother being the only one who would always comfort him.

He grew up lonely, but to fill that space he began learning new things. In his teenage years he met an elven druid named Aias who allowed Gaeril to help him with a deadly fungus problem in the area. Gaeril's interest and nack of learning quickly picked Aias interest and he took on the young half elf as his apprentice. Gaeril also started studying languages, often visiting Silverymoon to read. There he met Laurelei, whom he fell in love with. They would sneak out and spend time by themselves but like many things in Gaeril's life it did not last. She was promised away, and Gaeril ultimately decided to leave his home behind with Aias to become a druid like his mentor.

During his training he met Fang, a wolf cub trapped in a snare. Saving the cub resulted in more challenges as an angry bear attack them, and in desperation and fear this triggers Gaeril's first wildshape. He still bears the scars from this encounter, but he also gained a companion for life. Using his new ability, he would raise Fang and teach the cub how to hunt and survive.

Now Gaeril is surrounded by a group of friends, having saved Phandalin from danger with the aid of Alusys, a halfling bard. Abroxos, a dwarf fighter. Baaliel, a tiefling paladin and Zherxius, a tiefling wizard.
