So. You see a DD that you don't like - what do you do?
Do you sit down and type a polite helpful comment detailing how the piece in question can be improved? If you do then well done you.
Do you ignore it and let the deviant in question have their 24 hours of fame, realise it's only a staff feature and move one? Good.
Do you go in all angry and leave comments like "This is crap!" "The standards are falling?" "This doesn't deserve a DD!!11!one!" 
Tut.That is not the way to go about it.
YES you are entitled to an opinion. But you have to remember it's not the deviant in questions fault - they didn't ask to be featured. You wouldn't like it happening to you.

Totally agree! I feel so horrible for the people whose art has been chosen to be a DD- and then I read nasty/bitchy comments below it... How to turn someone's winning moment to crap in seconds...

Well, what about disapproving a picture featured as DD in a case like this?
Supposing, you found an image which is worth to be featured as DD and you suggest the deviation to the responsible Community Volunteer.
After months or even a year you never got any response nor the picture wasn't featured.
Until someone else suggested the same image and suddenly it'll be featured as DD by the same CV you suggested the picture, too long time ago.

Hmm. That is a tough one. I know a CV can choose not to feature it if it has no write up or they don't think it is the right time - I suppose that this would be an issue to take up with the actual CV.

I had someone bitching about two of my pieces of artwork on my FIRST DAY HERE!!!!!!! I had to delete these deviatations because of it, I was worried that someone would start harassing me about it. Talk about a warm welcome D8<

...Oh boy. I'm a victim of DD harassment...apparently drawing "sweaty hockey
players" wasn't DD worthy that day. I don't understand those who think it's cool to
destruct critique, whether the artist is superb or beginner. Telling someone they
suck really hurts, especially since I spent 86 hours drawing in TegakiE.

I never openly bitch on a DD if I felt a piece in question didn't "deserve" it. A piece I may feel it didn't deserve the spotlight, though I feel the actual artist does. What is DD worthy then? In the end, its an admins opinion.

I agree so much! A DD is given. The artist has no choice in the matter! One comment like "This doesn't deserve it!" will overshadow so many good positive ones and stick in the artists brain. People really disturb me when they do things like that. I thought this was supposed to be a "community".

I must admit that if i utterly fail to understand why something got a DD, i sometimes comment on it. But i do try to be polite, and point out that it's just my personal opinion, and that it doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad artwork. Hating on the artist is pretty uncool in my opinion too.
