Description
A school assignment where we had to practice textures to see what effect they have in picture. Playing with textures is fun, but on a long run it sure is tiring!I like to draw fishes.

Awful lot of details. *w* First I didn't even notice that the water was done the way it is, lined. It seemed so smooth. Just for curiousity, how long did it take (about) to make this? ;D And how big it's irl? Aannddd. Did you photoshop the lines with gradient tool that way from black/grey to blue? I got loots of questions. Ou jee. BD

We had only one day to make this, so I'd say about... 4-5 hours? It's standard A4 sized, made with that ink-pen you gave to me, and yes I did photoshop the gradient there to make the picture look more intresting to look at. :'D Questions are good.

Haha thanks :'D Normally I wouldn't either, but it was school work and I skittered to friend's house to ink inbetween of cats so it was kinda fun.

Erm, yeah. I love the scales and the variation of bold and thin lines... The tail folds prettily and the light-effect on the head really works. All in all, wonderful work! The only thing I'm missing is... darkness? xD I dunno, but since there is a strong light I think there should be something dark too and not just mediums. But since the assignment was about textures, I think you did an excellent job ^^

FISHH! I think that many fishes are actually just "fish", but personally I like fishes better.

Wow, love the texture. The water looks a little too sharpedged to me but the drops are lovely. The fish is beautiful, love the tailfin~ It's beautiful, good work with its' texture.
You should try something like this more often - outside school. First I didn't regocnize this as your work at all. But then I looked it closer and saw that the eyes look something you might draw. And the... amm... nose? No. The head of the fish.
Cute dragonfly. I really like the texture of its' shadows and wings.
Poor little dragonfly, he's gonna get it. Or is it a she? Oh well xD Gonna get it either way.
This could go to a book as an illustration. Or what ever they call it.

It looks sharpedged because it is :'D At first it was supposed to have lineart like that wish, but I soon noticed that without them the picture has more airy feeling. So what you're seeing are the shadows of the actual water and not exactly the water as whole, since I was already half-way inking it when I made the decision to not make the line there in the end.
I should but like I said it's pretty tiring - it's fun at first and then it's PURE PAIN. PURE. PAIN. With my short attention spawn I could never finish it if not for absolute must.
You don't just see me drawing fishes that often. B)
