I...I love this ID. I may not be huge into the ponies anymore (though if people saw my collection they'd say otherwise BUT) I still love the multicolored things. I think your expression wins this however. XD

Yeah I tried my hardest to get that "awwwww, yeah bitchez look" down

Multi-colored art and toys are my favorite and I use to be really bad at it where I didn't make a proper palette and most of stuff turn out wrong. But after I started using a lot of watercolor my multicolor palettes started turning out pretty awesome.

Oh I know what you mean about the multicolored toys bit. In a way i'm probably drawn to the TFs for that reason too - I love colors. A lot. My Little Pony is just so ridiculous with the amount however, but that's a pretty good thing honestly.

But It's not a bad thing I know I want to make Toys some day and the colorful/shiny thing plays right into my hand.

these are true G1 [link] and they all have this pose

these are more of the old 1980's G1's [link]

there needs to be a movement for excepting half-shaved and fully shaven haired beauties because when I had it fully shaven the reaction to me was I was a) a cancer patient, b) a skin-head or c) crazy

I don't mind the crazy part but people need to get over that girls can shave their heads too or we will unite with Ponys and rule the world

Oh but I totally agree ! I mean in 2011 it's time to stop judging women by their hair (or lack of). But there are so many parts of us that are judged : if you shave your head, you're not feminine but if you don't shave everything else then you're not feminine either !

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UnionBlack In reply to Caravaggia [2011-08-01 15:53:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's true, I'm actually rereading part of my favorite book called the Body of Frankenstein's monster. That's a collection of essays on Science, Medicine and Myth the one I'm re-reading is called the Premenstrual Werewolf about women's sexuality, about Hair, and How religion views women as more bestial than men because were under the influence of our hormones that change use in a way parallels to all werewolve and transformation myths because we are forever tied to the moons cycles.

an interesting quote on hair from this is 'Hair of the scalp and face is also a type of blank slate on which people write messages to one another, telling who is what in society, and where and why. The trim and arrangement of out hair - how it is cut, shaped, and gathered together- are all strands in the complex netweork of shared meaning that links us together, for they are signals of gender and age, ritual power or social status. Hair is an important part of the Social radar of our lives, a vibrant but silent language between us.'

it's funny how in most religions men who cut their hair in a short way symbols their power over religion and they are holy men, Christianity, Judaism, Islamic, even Buddhism and Hinduism all men who control their hair is a sign of specail holiness.

But it goes on to say that Hair and womens sexuality is closely intertwined (especially long hair) 'while Women's Long hair is the symbol of their gender (and of sexuality0, it can also carry an extra and dangerous message. For in many human cultures, Long hair is also the symbol of animality, the sign of the beast, the sign of nature, and of those who live of work among it.'

Basically it's the same message around the world that men are fucking terrified of women and their sexuality and that these metaphors have been used to belittle women for so long. So even shaved Haeded women are threatening to women and to men because they have control and freedom that means that they themselves can not control. It can't be grabbed on to or control it only we can control our own shaven head

Caravaggia In reply to UnionBlack [2011-08-02 15:56:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh well, first, let me virtually propose you, I just can't resist cultured women !

I didn't know this book, sounds really interesting. As for the parallel between werewolves and women, I actually never thought about it... always thought about the (so-called or not) influence of full moon on lots of people's behavior but without a "sexist" point of vue. But it sounds pretty accurate when you list most men's fears that they compare two things that shouldn't be, just because it takes them out of their comfort zone. Fear of the unknown.

Anyways, talking about symbols, hair and religion, I know for sure that in some parts of Islam (and don't see here anything against Islam, I see all of religions the same way...) women have to hide their hair under a strict veil because hair represents sexuality. So it's a very private thing that must be hidden from everybody except their family and of course, their husbands. It's a matter of decency. So ok, they keep the "sexual" part of their head for their husbands, right. But the men in Islam not only can show their -short- hair but also HAVE to grow a big beard. Sorry if the way I see it, it kinda means they can and nearly must excessively express their sexuality through this. And I'm sure it's the same in a lot of cultures and religions... -__-

(I do however have to embrace the theory that says hair and sexuality are linked, even though I can't explain it, see how many girls are turned on by guys with long hair for no reasons !)

UnionBlack In reply to Caravaggia [2011-08-03 21:01:53 +0000 UTC]

it's not a very well known or didn't sell very well I got a copy at a second hand book store so you can probably find a copy on amazon, But the sexist veiw is an interesting one because it kind of compares Nature to the unknown because Nature was scary back then it was this big black never ending wildness with animals that could take you down easily. So people who kind of worshipped Nature and had "power" over must have also been a squick factor for guys back then and we should kill it with religion. But the essays in are fascinating and go between essays comparing demons from christianity to Germs and tying that into the black plague. The ideas that we acknowledge our Organs and everything inside of use as separate things that we can not control and use metaphors to refere to our organs like they are separete beings from our bodies, in a way it's a very macabre way to look at our bodies. Also there's a essay on Plastic Surgery and the replacment of peoples organs with people who died and in a way live on but it's similar to the Frankenstein monster body.

I have no doubt that the Hijabs are a way to make women subservient to man and to Allah as well. But Speaking of hair I was watching the movie Modify which is about Piercing, Stretching ears, tattooing, and flesh suspension but also has people who talk about make-up and Plastic surgery and many of them agree that most people don't think of Make-up or doing hair as a Body modification but if you alter your body then it's a form of Body modification and make-up, Hair modification and Plastic surgery are seen as more normal than a person who gets a tattoo, or a piercing or does scarification. But in my opinion when I watched the film. Seeing someone get Plastic Surgery (which they show in graphic detail) was horrifying compared to watching someone do flesh suspensions,or scarification they even showed a guy who put metal beads into his own dick and they showed a lot of dick. Which didn't bother me as much as seeing them put giant metal poles behind peoples faces and watching them cut off pieces from people.

I've done my own study into girls who are turned on by guys with long hair and I actually believe that I look more like a guy with long hair than I do with short hair. I even have a Wig that's longer and have cross-dressed before and found girls are more turned on by me looking like an Emo boy than I do as a punky girl. I also had one time where I was with friends and we had a group of catholic school girls visiting our campus and one of my friend told my other friend who's a girl long-haired boy fantasy with tattoos and long Emo hair and we told him to just walk by them and see how many of them cream their pants so we walked right behind they and they all giggled and whispering and one gave the girliest 'hi' ever and we just busted out laughing not even ten feet away from them cause we knew that's what we would get from them.

No I beg to differ, I think that the definition and ideals of Straight-Man sexuality really needs to be redefined so that men are comfortable with their sexuality and they don't feel threatened by other Straight guys or any other woman or Sexuality. Because all threats you can use against a man is Slang for threating their masculine sexuality and if that's threatened it hurts guys and hurts their self image and it reenforces the stereotype that women and other people who have different sexualities are threatening to their masculinity. Womens and LBGT sexuality should not be used to demean Masculinity and vice-versa.

I think that this is something that strongly needs to be changed in our culture and the roots of our culture starting with how we raise boys from when they are young but also changing and educating older men and teen boys so it doesn't end with bad behavior that could end tragically like the Killing of Brandon Teena or Matthew Shepard. I mean i wouldn't defend the people who killed the two of them but they are a product of our Hetronorama culture and this need to change.

It's okay to like My little Pony it's okay to like cream and sugar in your coffee instead of black and it's not Manly to demean other people
