You know the Abarat is kind of like the game for me, if I think of it I lose the game. Fuck I lost again, big timeI need this book to come out, I'm serious when I say that if Absolute Midnight gets pushed back to 2012, when i get out of school I'm hunting Clive barker down and making him give me a copy of that book and I will have a wire-fu matrix battle with him. While will probably result in me getting killed and skinned for Clives canvases.

I image the unfinished manuscript will be in a bone structure glass case protected by spiders and scorpions. At least I found someone in on the hunt for the Abarat book.

She is very pretty! The colors are very like Clive's. I can't wait for his book to come out. Maybe you should take the Misery approach when you hunt him down so you don't end up getting used for canvas!

well I guess it could be a little misleading to say we know what we know about Princess boa from the images of her because there were only two painting of her in the book, that weird to think of an painting within a painting, pretty meta.
But hopefully with Candy knowing Boa is her sister well get to know her more as a character.
Honestly I'm no where need the level of Clive barker, if I get to be half as good at color or one-fourth as good at writing as Clive is in my life time I will be ecstatic.

Well no, but you expressed her in the way you can, and a little better than how he did. His style is a little more..primitive? abstract? Either way, he uses color in the way most people use lines. There ARENT any lines in his. you get the feeling, but you dont quite SEE it.

I wouldn't say primative his style is more a combo of Expressionism/french impressionism, with a little but of Klimt and Schiele thrown in.
I think his work says a lot more about the book and probably would be the same with out looking at it because it would have the same kaleidoscopic effect it has on you

I love how colorful this is, it really does put me in mind of his paintings. The spots on her shoulders are an especially nice touch. A shame the photo is so blurry. SAD FACE.

I decided to go colorful and it really stuck out next to everyone who did a realistic-like portrait mine kind of stuck out.
also the orange spot were suppose to be her necklace, didn't get to finish it (and I finished this in record time) also the piece is tiny on a huge board and doesn't fit in my scanner, I think I'm gonna need a bigger scanner

Man for really big pictures you have to go grab an industrial-size scanner in the art labs. Buying one that size leads to madness.
I honestly think those spots look cool, sort of like bizarre freckles. Plus it makes me think of patterns on a snake, so it fits with her name.

Yeah I'll probably end up buying one of those monstrosities when I need because after school there is no more big scanner use T^T
oh yeah the real world is totally overrated with working hours at the office, working on comic pages at home and working at a barista at starbucks.
I don't know it really need to be finished so I should probably take t off the scanner and finish the damn thing. Also I hope Clive give a little more explanation of Boa when the damn book comes out because I have waited waaaay to long for that book
