Description
Easter events had filled the day with activities, Frankie mentally scheduled her day and check off list in her mind. “Paint Fat Bastard like a peep and have photoshoot with the devil spawn? Check. Get her Alice in Wonderland costume from home and have it pressed and ready for the tea party later? Check. Get into playboy bunny outfit and find a partner to run with? Half-check.” Looking down at the skimpy outfit donned with fishnet and ears she could only chuckle and shake her head, making the wired ears bounce a bit.
The running track was already filled with various teams, some already tying their legs together, others ripping the tape off in annoyance. Frankie scanned the area, smiling at all the groups of people interacting with one another; so when she spotted the tall dark skin beauty standing off to the side by herself, she had to take pause. Maybe she was waiting for a friend… Maybe she was waiting for somebody like Frankie to pop up; either way the chinchilla liked her odds. Any dummy with eyes would have noticed the tall dark skin woman around the caverns, but fate was not with Frankie on approaching her until now.
Reaching her destination, Frankie leaned against the nearest wall and couldn’t help but smile at the lovely woman, “I couldn’t help but notice that you’re here by yourself; would a lovely lady like yourself be in need of some company?”
The woman blinked, surprised at her approach, and lowered her wide brown eyes on Frankie. "Oh! I was just...watching the race. I think this is something that requires a partner and...I didn't exactly sign up." She added, pursing her lips with a shrug.
Pushing herself off the wall by her shoulder, Frankie stepped closer to her counterpart; “Then I guess I am even luckier than I thought to be able to find you first before you are flocked by all the potential other partners.” Her smile widened, tapping her finger between her lip piercings under her lip. “I would be humbled if you would be tied to me for the race.” Adding in a flirty wink at the end of the statement.
The woman pushed a lock of ebony hair out of her face, her bewilderment apparent by her flustered expression. After a moment she placed a hand on her chest and replied, "O-Okay, I'm Arisha...Endicott. I'd love to be partners." She offered a sheepish smile, clearly unsure of what to say or do, aside from stumble over words.
“Frankadoraline Amanda Kayla Chevelle Duuuuuuscha” Frankie rolled the last part of her name with a heavy New Zealand accent, “But my friends call me Frankie.” Hooking her arm in Arisha’s she led her to the sign up sheet where they were given the sporting tape to attach them at the calves. The chinchilla was in no way shy about bending over and arranging the tape so it was not too tight but not so loose they could wiggle out of it and trip each other. Her fingertips gently glided across Arisha’s skin, once finished she stood up and tested the tape strength a bit before she continued. “You got some runner legs, do you trek often? I am a bit of a jogger myself.”
Arisha's eyes widened even further at her name, but she quickly recovered not wanting to seem rude by gawking at her new acquaintance. Instead, she nodded, shifting her position so she didn’t tug the tape loose on accident. “I uh...yeah, I do long distance running when I have time.” Her face had long since flushed a deep red as she awkwardly tried to decide how she wanted to stand before the race got started. Glancing around at the other contestants she said, “Do you think we have a shot? I have to admit I’ve only watched my students do this sort of thing.”
“Of course my new lovely partner!” Frankie took Arisha’s left arm and wrapped it around her shoulder before taking a gentle hold of Arisha’s waist, “It’s all about balance and pacing oneself. Just remember to use your arms for balance and don’t worry about actually running. A decent pace will get us there faster than haphazardly flopping over each other in a rush.” Frankie let out a small laugh before continuing “We can speed walk a bit to the starting line if it makes you feel better.”
A smile tugged at the corner of Arisha's lips as the pose started to feel more like a dance than a race. "I would love that, because I feel like I'm going to trip at the starting line, and I would rather not have that kind of first impression hanging over my head." She let out a chuckle at how ridiculous that would look. “Starting slow would be fantastic.”
“It’s okay if we fall on our faces, that just means we know better for next time right? Even so, I have a good feeling about this, and my gut is rarely wrong.” She chuckled a bit before starting to walk towards the starting point, using her hips to indicate when she was about to use her legs, a familiar pop song humming from her lips so that Arisha’s leg moved in beat with it. Slowly she picked up the pace just a bit, in tune with the song she was humming; both their legs moved in sync and by the time they got to the start they no longer wobbled.
“Ya ready for this?” Frankie’s accent lit up again just a bit, giving her counterpart a wry smile, “Remember, a good pace wins every time; and if we trip up a bit, that’s just life; but we are going to rock this.”
“Absolutely,” Arisha replied, offering a grin. “I’m glad I have such a confident partner. Here’s hoping strategy really pays off.”
Frankie let out a hearty laugh, “It will pay off; even if just for laughs.” She turned back to the stretch of land in front of them before the signal went off for the race. The first few steps the pair wobbled but quickly regained their synchronization after the initial start, their pace slowly picked up using the same method as when they approached the starting line. By the time they reached the finish line, the duo was at a decent speed walk
Letting out a echo’d cheer, both girls gave each other a high five in celebration before untying their ankles. "That was a lot of fun!" Frankie cheered "I knew we could do it!"

Artist notes:
WOOT! I have been wanting to draw Arisha for some time (So dang gorgeous!) and I was so excited when the ever amazing Maiyuna offered her up to run with Frankie. Both seemed like a good fit physically to run together and even if they crashed and burned, Frankie wouldn't let her be embarrassed in the slightest; so I was happy to have them together. <3
Story was collaborated, all Arisha's bits were written by Maiyuna
Both Frankie and Arisha are associated with CrystalAnimamates which is run by the lovely SailorAlcyone and iCheddar
Arisha is owned by Maiyuna
Frankie is owned by me.
