Description Finally tooks some pics of my last jury project that was a few weeks back so, here it is.

Design is based off of relationships, volumetric analysis, and study of a precendent site/house. Consists of large public areas and mid size private areas and a walkways showing spactial seperation. Designed based off the original precedent over shadows a small garden and also give an elevated view of a larger garden located on the left side.

Site took me a while to build and was a pain to carry cuz it was kinda big and heavy. Jury went really well for this project, i'm happy with all the work and time i put into all the drawings, studies, and the final model. Already working on my finaly project, kinda wonder how jury is gonna turn out for that.

this is really a very nice model. Such thick elevation changes would normally be a bit too strong, but here I think they work with the nature of the building.

on a side note, it kind of amuses me that your -what we would call review- is called jury. I'm curious if you reach a final verdict- I mean, are you given a grade at the end of the presentation and discussion, or does that decide whether you remain in the program? ... just interesting to see how other schools operate

Thanks for the comment, and yes i am given a grade at the end of the presentation and discussion, but the grade counts for a very large precentage of your semester grade, so in other words even if you do well on one jury you can still fail if your final jury doesn't go so well. You can be kicked out of the program if your GPA drops to low or if you fail a class more than once. I know that to continue on in the program, junior and senior year, you must present a portfolio and a thesis.

sorry it took so long for me to respond.. final project's been keeping me insanely busy.

that's really interesting. very different from here actually. does that mean that your program is four years long then? here the fifth year students are the only ones who have to have a thesis, though I think they have to have thesis concept presentations in the second half of fourth year. it seems like architecture is one of the few majors that really varries from school to school. that just makes it so much cooler!
