but i do think that the route the player takes has some influence on what Chara becomes like. In this case, playing the genocide route brings out the evil Chara whereas in pacifist they are more helpful

Well, that's what the group is about. Proving that Chara is not the culprit. The true masterrminf is none other than the Anomaly, namely the PLAYER! They're the ones who take control over them, forcing them to kill those Chara cared about. The majority got it all wrong. The evidence within the game contradicts the claim of the so called "mastermind Chara".
