Oil painting of this [link] portrait, done for illustration class.I really enjoyed working on this one, the colors and compostion were just so awesome. Many, many thanks to =SubterfugeMalaises for letting me use her picture as a reference. Oil on canvas, had 4 weeks to work on it. I lost track of the time I spent on it, but it was somewhere between 12 and 15 hours. Anyway, enjoy!

Wonderful! Too bad I can't see the real thing though . Scanning or taking pictures of your work usually skews how the piece really looks. But, anyways, her secret is "Victoria's Secret", right? ;D

well you're very welcome! ...and yeah, sahlberg ALWAYS finds a little something to tweak, usually with an area you thought was finished and good to go -- then he tells you not to touch an area you just had roughed out, lol...

hehe, thank you so much! Yeah, that was the hard part about this painting, waiting a week before touching it each time. We use water-based oils though, so they dry faster.

Time? Somewhere around 15 hours total. I lost track of all the extra sessions I went in for.
Yeah, these paints are really fun. I've heard that real oils are better in the long run, but water-based ones are cheaper and great to learn on.
