Wow, i am so proud of this, its probably the hardest i've worked on a picture in a long time...anyway I wont babble, without further delay i'd like to introduce my newest oc Serafin!

History:

As the legend goes...Serafin's father, Edel, was a pure Fire UnderEquine with a noble status and kind disposition...that is, until a demoness set her eyes on him. She'd watch him in secret for days, weeks, as he trekked across the earth dutifully rising to his breed's burden and ripping the metal posts from the dirt with every bold step, only to have them drawn back into the dirt by some invisible gravity by the time he was ready to take his next step. The demoness held no name, she had no form, but was merely fire embodied, and in order to have him she knew she had to get creative. In response, she placed herself inside a host, a beautiful and seductive white thoroughbred. The demoness tracked down Edel and easily swept him off his feet, capturing his heart. Some say she just used him for her own cruel entertainment, some say that the look in her fiery eyes was nothing other than true love....but no matter the reason, she brought forth the lust in the noble equine's soul and soon enough she became pregnant. It was not long before she realized her fatal mistake. Her vessel was not strong enough to contain her essence and with each passing day her fiery form started to eat away more and more of her beautiful white body. The fire of her soul glowed through the skin of her swollen belly with each rasping breath, and any cut or crevice in her skin would slowly swell lava. She was quite literally burning from the inside out. As her due date rapidly approached she became more and more fearful, how would Edel react to her betrayal, she was dying...would her foal suffer the same fate? And so, she fled to a secluded place to await the arrival her foal.

Her labor was long and hard, as her form was weak, but she successfully gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. The foal held the elegant auburn colors of Edel, with dashes of her own white burned upon his small frame. He retained the qualities of a pure Under Equine, smooth knee bones peppered his legs, tiny chains encircled his ankles, and the horn he wore was representative of an egg tooth, if the birth were natural of the underequine...but unfortunately the little colt was to be anything but natural. When Edel finally found the pair, he couldnt believe what he saw. The fire demoness was dying, her host's body rapidly crumbling from the strain of the labor, the cracks in her swollen stomach glowed hot white and were spreading through her. Finally, too weak to stay in the vessel, what remained of her true form sept out the white mare's nose and mouth and disappeared into the night. The foal she left behind looked unto the lonely world confused, his fiery colored eyes gazed up at the sky and just then a strange feeling overtook the newborn, a faint flicker of power deep in the pit of his soul. Edel, who had been frozen in shock, finally leapt into view and dropped to his knees beside the decaying body of the mare he loved. Edel knew not what to believe, he merely knew that something supernatural was at work and that it took his lover from him, he wheeled around to look towards the foal afraid of what he would find, but when he saw a healthy baby boy looking up at him, his tears turned to those of joy. He saw his lover in the boy's white legs and silver-streaked hair, and raised him to be just as wise and noble as he. Things seemed normal for the young foal in his early childhood, the chains upon his legs strengthened him, his muscles becoming defined as his body grew, but his body was not the only thing that was growing. That small feeling he felt as a foal began to grow as well, and the ash turned to a spark which became a glow and grew to a fleeting flame, Sera tried his best to ignore it, not knowing that anything was wrong, bur by his third year something happened that would change his life forever.

While off adventuring. he came across a small Amish village, and being young and bold he decided to explore the outskirts of the camp. While drinking from a nearby stream he felt a pair of eyes upon him. His noble head shot up in a flash and his flame colored iris's locked with the pale green eyes of a small boy of perhaps 12 years of age. The boy was sitting on a rock with his feet dangling in the water a short distance away, and for a few moments neither moved. Uncertain of the strange creature and unnerved by his gaze, Sera reared up and took off back towards his herd...but the boys eyes never left his mind, and the very next day Sera found himself retracing his steps back towards the river. The boy was there again, in the same spot as before, but this time, Sera's spot had an apple resting there, waiting for him. Sera soon found himself returning to the boy every day to munch on the apple and doze in the shade. They never approached each other, but simply seemed content to share eachothers company. However, one day something was different, the boy apple was no longer in it's spot, but in the boy's hand, and after brief hesitation Sera crossed the river and took it from the hand of the quiet boy he had learned to trust. The apple wasn't the only thing the boy brought with him today, he also held a red band tight in his palm. He held it out for Sera to whiff, and Sera found that it smelled like the boy. The boy was making noises at him that he couldnt understand hid Sera swiveled his ears to pick up the sound, frustrated that we could not understand, but something in the boys posture said...sadness. The boy then pointed to the village a few miles out and Sera finally understood, the tents were broken down and wagons were being loaded...this was goodbye. By the time Sera turned back he found the boy had shifted and taken Sera's long tail in his small hands and had weaved an elegant braid, tied at the end with the red band. The boy gently placed a hand on Sera's muzzle before running back to the slowly departing village leaving the cold with a silent, peaceful sorrow, a feeling that was soon replaced with cold, wild terror.

The boy was not the only thing approaching the village, lions, five or six at least, were stalking their way towards to the town. With a roaring whinny he took off at a gallop as quickly as he could bursting out of the forest and onto the dirt, but no mater how hard he willed his legs to fight the chains around his legs the spikes kept digging back into the ground, and he just wasnt strong enough to fight that gravity. Every pull and yank and strain held him back, his muscles were screaming, his chest was heaving, the metal was biting into his skin, but it wasn't enough. When he finally made it to the village everything was destroyed, he desperately searched the town but couldnt find the boys body. Out of breath and feeling defeated he lowered his head in mourning, unaware that there was one ravaging lion that remained in the camp, still searching for a kill. When the lion lunged Sera was exhausted and unprepared, he managed to dodge a quick swipe of the beast's mighty claws but the next cut deep into the arch of his neck and, and much to both animal's surprise, instead of blood, lava sept out of the gaping crevice burning the big cats paws and sending him scampering.

Now, in the middle of a field, stood Sera. His heavy breathing stretched his auburn flank, and beneath it the fire now roared, his breathing fueled the fire, ribs glowing against the heat and protruding on his skin as tiny cracks of lava sept through his pores like sweat and a faint glow emitted through his muscle. The fresh gash on his neck burned hot and the flowing lava kept it from closing, burning any hair that tried to grow there. That was how his father found him.
"YOU" he screamed at the frightened fiery stallion, "IT WAS YOU! YOU KILLED HER YOU DEMON!"
Sera, lost and heartbroken, scared and confused, defeated and mourning, alone, was then chased out of the land, exiled by his own father, never to return.

Sera continued to grow, as did the fire, and now, as a full grown stallion, the glow beneath his protruding ribs flares with every breath he takes, sending a tiny stream of lava through the cracks like blood through veins. Where his horn meets his nose lava has also started to flow, and the bones on his legs made the skin split and it seeps through there as well. When he opens his mouth or flares his nostrils you can see the fires glow trying to escape him. To this day he is still clueless to his mothers true nature, does not understand why he is different, and has no idea why fire seems to dance before him as if trying to reach out and touch him whenever he passes. Some say it's his mothers weak spirit trying to reach out and cradle him like she never had the chance to, some say shes trying to kill him, but who knows? Certainly not Sera. So he roams with the heavy burden he bares, frightening those who cross his path and living a life of solitude. He has conditioned himself for years, and those who have seen him say he can cross a field at a gallop as if the chains weren't even there. A part of him still believes the boy survived, and he has made it his purpose to find him, because what other reason does he have to continue living this way, to live an immortal life of suffering....still, at the tip of his ash smeared tail the red tie remains, and therefore, so will he.
