Description This slide depicts two Rio Grande K-36's charging on the final stretch to their home base at Alamosa, Co with a Farmington Oil Train in tow. This pic was taken a year before the Farmington Oil trains vanished taking the San Juan Extension with it.

If only the oil company could help bring back the San Juan Extension

Technically, parts of the San Juan Extension are still here. However, it's all tourist trains now. Besides that point, it would be too expensive to rebuid the lost parts of the tracks.
