On my list of projects that I am unlikely to ever complete, but which seem like a neat idea anyhow, damnit--Slugs of the Elements! The Earth Slug! The Fire Slug, surrounded by leaping flames! The Water Slug! The Air Slug, with little wingy bits! The world is ripe for elemental slugs! And together, they combine to form Captain Planetslug! And then--No, wait, scratch that last bit. The world may be ripe for elemental slugs, but it needs a lot more time in the sun before it's ripe for THAT. And hey, who has time? But I liked the Earth Slug anyhow, since I was in a "let's do a funky border for the hell of it," mood.

You have so many incredible, well-done, hilariously creative pictures with wonderful composition and color--but this one is just a bit different, what with the border and all. I love the colors and the simple, stylized drawing, and the whole earthy, native/aboriginal feel this has. It jumped out at me, so thought I'd start with it as a fav and to comment on. I'd sure love to see the other Elemental Slugs as well! Any chance you'll go back to that idea and finish them up?
I really love your use of color, in general. And of course that wonderful, whimsical sense of humor in everything you do!

I love the funky border, just like I love the slug, and I kind of wish there was a version like Captain Planet Slug. It would have made things more interesting.

Gorgerous work of art. I adore the colouring, it's so very nice. You do the cutests slugs in the world. I've never been able to want to pet a slug before I saw your pictures.

This is really, really, REALLY funny. I live in the heart of the desert Southwest, and this style you've got here is so Southwest, it hurts. perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the slug is NOT a major component in Southwestern art--might have something to do with that whole "desert" thing. So glad the slug is receiving the homage it deserves....
