Description I was following an online conversation where someone was complaining (not without justice!) that people were much more interested in beer than in conservation.

My solution to this is to combine the two.

The Kirtland’s Warbler is endangered as all get out, breeds only in jack pine forests in Michigan, and is believed to number some 5000 individuals. On the bright side, that’s a lot more than there used to be and conservation efforts seem to be helping a lot.

This was a quick silliness, but if you really must have a print, far be it from me to stop you… [link]

You know, slightly unrelated, but I saw a local winery recently that had a particular red wine from which all profits went to the ASPCA. It was called Howling Good Red. I think you may have the right idea here.

You have the best ideas.

Despite not being interested in booze whatsoever I guess there are plenty of people who are and, well, you have to talk to people where they are!

That's a great idea. I think you should go talk to some breweries.

Being someone who has done conservation work with Golden-Wing Warblers, I really love this. Great job! I wonder what you could do with a Golden-Wing.

As always, I am delighted by your quirky humour.

As a German native speaker though, I was a bit confused by your placing the umlaut marks on the 'u' instead of the 'a' (in German, the word is 'Bräu', not 'Braü'). Does that spelling actually exist in Australia?

...man...if it was a good beer and you donated, say, 1 dollar per bottle? You could raise thousands of dollars for the effort in a week or so, with good distribution.

Hmmmm....

Also, I don't drink beer (hate the taste of alcohol, period), but if this was real I would find every recipe that calls for beer in the world and try cooking it. *___*

Your packaging designs are so clever! I know you said this was meant for fun but it's a great idea-- and a wonderful presentation!

The only potential problem I see is that once a person has consumed a few of these, they may interpret 'conservation' as 'conversation' and completely miss the point...

(see Jenvas' comment) Yep. As a native German speaker I can attest you it should definitely be "-bräu", not "-braü".

Love this, though. I've always been interested both in endangered species and of course in beer, and... now I'm thirsty. Prost!

Seriously, it's a great idea! The Kirtland's Warbler is one of the many animals that really deserves more attention.

There is actually a chocolate company who pictures endangered animals on their packaging (and I believe money from sales goes to said animals), and there is a gum company who plants a tree for every tube sold

In the UK there's a corncrake ale, which helps support endangered corncrakes, and the black grouse whisky which supports black grouse conservation, both through the RSPB. None have labels as nice as this one though!

i don't like beer, but i do love unique labels. once in a while, i wander liquor stores to see if anything new has come through.

there need to be more labels like this. and if it indeed donated something to a good cause? i might pick it up and donate it to a raffle.
