I like the little bit of glow around him. Wren's can be rather demanding of one's attention when they want to be.

I love how emotive you are able to get all of your animal drawing portraits. True skill! :]

This is really very lovely. I like the quality of the lighting, and the contrast between the basic cuteness of the wee wren and the dark colours you've chosen here. The post and the twist of barbed wire round it are a nice touch as well.

I'd say you did it quite well. I love birds - they can be so pretty.

This is awesome. It's interesting seeing a bird that isn't a raven in dark lighting.

Poor bird! From the thumbnail I thought his tail was the hilt of a sword... Which is a sad reflection on my brain. Lovely work though. I love the textures in the background, the squiggly wire, and (of course) the lovely bird. <3

Yeah, mixed media on a scanner equals frowny face. But the alternative does sounds stressful (I always gave up and took my large originals to a photographer for digitizing). This looks pretty spiffy regardless of the feeling you might get toward it because you know the original. The soft lighting and monochromatic nature remind me of the feeling I get from a J.J. Palencar painting.

I saw one of these guys for the first time the other day, and I'm pretty sure there aren't many cuter animals in existence. Lovely painting!

Wrens are my favorite bird, and this is a lovely painting of one. I like the glow, stark or not, it comes across nicely.

Maybe it's the barbed wire, and maybe it's the lighting, but...
... when I meet that wren's stare, I feel the icy hand of death upon me....

Cute! And I agree, it did turn out well; an excellent depiction of a bird, but different from the normal wildlife images that one might see.

This is neat. I like the colors and the slight aura around the bird. Cool. Neat texture, too. And the barbed wire on the fence? Nice touch.
