Description Heh, and I said I'm not one for fan-art! Well, I broke down and drew Konoko from the computer game of a few years back called "Oni". The game (while flawed) was still really cool and a lot of fun to play. Anyway, I just felt like drawing the main character for kicks! The pose is a little bland, but besides that... I think the colors came out pretty good. I am rather inexplicably happy with this pic!

She looks a lot like the blond girl that you watch as a model in the TCTF training. I still have the game on my computer. I've watched my dad play it since the day I was born ( literaly). I love it!

The short-haired look you gave her works surprisingly well It gives her a slightly more professional and military look without making her look butch. The pistol slide looks a shade on the thick side (in terms of the top-to-bottom dimension) though I like the less complicated design of the armor.

Awesome! I knew exactly who this was and what game it was from the moment I saw the Thumbnail! Oni, man that was one of my more favorite games back in the day! I mostly still remember the bright reds and flashy super attack or combos or whatever they were! It was great!
Pretty overall well done piece, although I think her pose is abit stiff ^ ^

Yeah, that game was great fun... one of my favorites Sadly the pose I drew was a bit stilted.. especially for such a dynamic game. Anyway, glad you still enjoyed it

Haha! I love this. I was a huge fan of Oni, even though I had it for the PS2 (and I still have two copies of it, lul wut?) I really like what you did with it, too. It turned out real nice, I think.

the only things i can criticize about is the proportions of the rifle and the positioning of the nose.. the nose definitely has to be a bit higher and your mp5 has to be compressed and lengthened a bit.. others from those 2, the composition of this is great..

omg, this is the first time i'm criticizing art.. i suddenly feel guilty..

It sucks bungie sold the rights to Oni... after all their success with the Halo series I'd love to see them go back and make a new Oni game using what they've learned about rich level design... oh well, maybe one day they'll buy the rights back! We can dream after all!!

Very original interpretation of the character. One more score for being a Bungie gamer (I mean: from the times of old). I did some Oni fan art in the past too and still I do.

Apart from this, I like the cleanness, and simplicity. Resulting in an unsound mix of anime and french bande dessinΓ©e. Maybe positions and moves are a bit too rigid, but this and other works of yours show an high ability to bring out emotions from your charactes.

I still have the box around here somewhere. This is the game that got me addicted to Bungie, though I've yet to go back in time and play Marathon or any of their other games. I remember posting on some fansite about this game and even I am guilty of making some Oni fanart. This is cool to see :3

Thanks! Oni was a really great game... though Marathon will always have the place as my fav. Just because it was my first computer game that I played networked... I have some great memories of the game

Heh yeah 5 hours is a good chunk o' time to work on this! Although the posture is a bit odd as she seems a little stiff (which I guess kinda takes a little bit of the lifeishness away) but the lighting and proportions is spawntacular

Perhaps. I find it very refreshing for my art when I do a real-life drawing a little at a time every week. It really revamps that 'organic' feel in the work. It gives more fluid to your characters too.

Good art and gun detail, but the pose is a little stiff/dolllike... what was the whole premise of the game... I remember it being a launch title for the PS2 when it first came out.

The game mixed a really detailed hand to hand fighting engine with weapons (guns and what not) combat, and it did it well! So you could use a wide array of guns, or just beat the snot out of your enemy... it also had a really cool story too. I never played the ps2 version though.
