Sheesh, I need to check DA more often. I really love the feeling behind this piece, it's a good example of grey tones working well, with just that splash of color to really set things off. The emotion is clearly present, and something rather familiar to us students that live in the water-logged areas. Other than the previously mentioned tye issue, the only thing strikinlgy off is his arms to me look rather stiff and tubular, geometrically shaped rather than a nice smooth human form. Also, the weight of the rain water should be pulling his clothing down somewhat, though his outfit is a bit tight and may not be affected terribly much. Lovely pic amigo.

Drawing sessions are good, if you don't die from the unshaved hippies first DX I prefer to capture people laying around on campus. Check the library for people sleeping, you can get some fantastic poses that way.

That's why you sit a ways away, draw really fast, sit at an angle where they can't easily see you until the move a good deal, and look completely unassuming. If worst comes to worst, you could always tell them you're an art student. Considering it's campus, most people should be understanding of that fact. Actually, I'm suprised people haven't asked me questions yet for the number of times I've snuck up and drawn someone sleeping secretly.

Nice work on setting a somber and downtrodden mood with this pic! I really feel for the guy!

Wow this picture is really dramatic... the drabness all around him really puts that physicality to it all.. you can definately see that he's being dragged down but trrying his best to stay strong and ignore.
This is a really great picture... very dramatic.. that's all I can say!

NO problem mister!!! indeed.... I've noticed that sometimes... do you think about the emotion when you're drawing it..... or do you just draw it and hope it comes out ok???
For me I try my best to feel what I'm trying to convey in my picture.. like drama or anger or what have you.....
Hmm anyways... indeed happy to be of service!!

mmm I see... well that always helps quite a bit!!! Well I'm sure you'll get the hang of it eventually I don't think I'm horribley good at it either... at least in the body language unless of course it's "I'm cute" or "i'm sexy" and even then I can't draw men doing either pose.. I can't draw men period.. so we all have are weaknesses that we must work at....
yeah the whole mood of the picture really gives the viewer like that drab dragged down feeling.. which came out perfectly and it adds well to the character because he is slumped and his face is hidden...
it makes the viewer place themselves there ... also a bowed head with a covered face could denote shame (can't hide the feelings so he bows his head to at least hide his eyes).
lol.. I suppose it's a cheat ... but it's a really well executed one.... *smiles*

Yes, you have verily captured the essence of patheticness in this picture. It seems like it is at one of those moments in an anime where there is a monologue going on, and the figure is doing a walk cycle in silence except for the sounds of his shoes hitting the pavement.

Heh, I had such a bad day at work yesterday, it was almost funny. I figure with all the Karma points (tm) I accumulated there, I'm damn near bulletproof for the next week.
Very cool; the raindrops and splashes are very well done, and the border is neat and fits in well. My only minor gripe is his tie; I don't think it would be blowing in the wind if it was waterlogged. But meh.

Poor guy must be freezing. :'{}
The atmosphere ye got with the depth of field blurring, minimalist color and monolithic composition is geniune and excellent. Top notch!
