In my alternate history series "The American" I wake up in Paris on January 30, 1933. I spend the next twelve years consulting the Allies on how to prepare for and fight World War II. From August 1, 1940 to September 1, 1945 I am primarily based in the United States, except for a trip to England in the summer of 1942 and being near the front lines in Europe from D-Day to VE-Day.

Jenny Williams my fictional personal secretary up to Pearl Harbor. Jenny is the diminutive form of Jennifer, my favorite female name. Williams is the 3rd most common last name in the United States.
