Description The first TopMod model I've done in a while. Expect more if all goes well. I would've let it render for longer but I finished the next model and needed the CPU. Dying for more Hz/cores right now.

Hey dude - been too long since I've been on here / checked out your stuff. I am also suffering painfully from being unable to render what I wants. Blender 2.49b's engine is annoying me now; I would like for Blender 2.5 to stop being 'alpha', as the render engine in that is apparently some 10x quicker =/

All six of your models are fantastic, and I too am enjoying, but at the same time am getting awfully frustrated with Nurbs . To me, they seem to be 3D equivalent of Vector graphics, to the polygon's pixel. Sorry for the essay

Peace

More than a month later here's a reply... been busy.

I'm seriously considering getting some hardcore muscle for rendering, it's the only way I'm gonna get through my workload at a decent pace. With the new Mac Pros announced it might be sooner rather than later. NEED MOAR CORES.

Good analogy with the nurb/vector polygon/pixel, I haven't heard that one before and it's oh so true.

Yep, no presets here (apart from the materials.)

A sport should be invented just to accommodate this ball's design. Pretty sweet.

Yeah good old Maxwell. Good slow old Maxwell. I'm seriously getting so pissed and jealous of those with more than 2 cores

So do you use BootCamp/Fusions/Whatever for fry because there's no Mac version yet is there?

exactly. used vmware fusion..then parallels desktop (not much a difference) at first til' i realized bootcamp would better suit my needs since i needed c4d to utilize all 4gigs of ram i have. so i run fry on win7. must admit though, deleting win 7 and running maxwell on mac os is looking very tempting. its a hassle having to reboot just to render using fry when I can get vray to render almost the same quality in a fraction of the time. but then i think about how i don't really like the maxwell interface and how slow it is compared to fry (seemingly). Dilemma after dilemma.

I'd love to try fry and Swap. Can't wait for a Mac version. Arion looks totally awesome but there's no way I have the graphics to run that atm.

arion looks amazing no doubt, but alas i don't have $1k+ to spend on a program i'm not gettin paid to use. and a mac version of any random control product is unlikely (from what i've read). mainly though, the community gets to me. the forums are pretty tight, as in you can't post or even read in anything but the "news and development" and "general faq" articles, unless you are paying customer, in which case you have to provide license info. so i've had absolutely no help in learning fry. just reading the manual backwards and forwards, which is simply uneccesary and time consumin considering the 500+ posts in the "c4d and fry" forums that i can't access. kinda puts a damper on using it. for a time, even the material repository was only allowed to paying customers. in comparison to the slow, but just as good maxwell render with seemingly open forums n what not.
