Description Lustrous Pt 1:
SHHH. What was that in the distance? A fly, glinting off evening light? MiniMasa squinted, unsure. Her aquatic feet felt odd on dry land, grass catching in between the webbing of her toes, but it was a proud sensation, straying to such unfamiliar depths. The woods, after all, was like a forest of its own right, with dark thickets instead of coral reefs and rustling trees instead of waves.
New feelings aside, what was that she saw? It was too constant to be a fly. Too round to be a leering eye staring her way. Creeping closer, she could only imagine a star had fallen. That's how bright it seemed; like a star that wandered down from the sky as she had wandered up from the water.
Once pulled through a curtain of longer grass, MiniMasa saw a rock nestled in a perch amongst soft green clovers. A near glowing rock. Light seemed to siphon in from the overcast sky, concentrating on the large pebble.
She slunk in closer.
To the side, completely outside of her attention, a shadow fell from a tree. The branch creaked, the ground thudded, but MiniMasa remained entranced. It wasn't until the shadow stretched into the light, red face peeking in through the grass like leaking poison, that she gave it the attention it deserved.
A forest esk, tail still falling from its draped place in the tree, leered at the stone. It reached a dark claw forward, and MiniMasa was oddly taken aback by the other esk's feet. Sturdy, pointed toes looked suited for digging into tree trunks and gripping the ground underfoot. She was jealous. Then she realized the esk was reaching for the rock.
Why? She found it first. A playful tilt canted the other esk's head, and MiniMasa suddenly saw the malicious boredom urging it on. Did it only want the rock because she did? An urgency tingled her spine. That wasn't very fair. She moved to swipe the rock, very soon cupping it in her webbed palm. This was her adventure, and she didn't want to share with a creature so clearly more capable than her. What kind of fun would that be?

oof backgrounds are gunna kill me. By the time I get to the esks I'm so tuckered, it all turns into blob :,D

MiniMasa belongs to me.
I had the pleasure of throwing inΒ Acedia - #87 , who belongs to Banefulness - what a lovely design to work with. I wish I did it more justice, but the colors and fur patterns and silhouette were fun to work with in the dark lighting!
Esk are a lovely closed species that can be found at ThoseWhoWentMissing

Omg I love this, the gloomy atmosphere comes across so well and I love how acedia's tail is draped over the tree! You did him so well and he'd be so mad about her stealing the stone hahaha. Thank you so much for using him for your art, this is great ;_____;

Wow - you never told me about this! I love the written part and how petty Mina can be, lol. The spooky trees look so good, but I love how vague it gets at the edges and how gloomy her whole story is so far.
