Sadly Brazil didn't think so. For him Port was the slaver devil and England was the white sailor (because knights don't walk on water) who'd come to rescue the slaves from Port's clutches

In reality England was the pirate who'd come to steal slaves from the colonies and ship them to America to work in the farms owned by the pirates. Brazil just likes to ignore that "little detail" over his grudge with Portugal

At that time, though, since Netherlands wasn't catholic, we believed he was evil and stuff and kicked him from here~ There's only one building from that time that still exists, it's pretty~ ;w;
But those days we don't have any problem with Portugal. Maybe some that are narrow-minded, but... Most of us have relatives from Portugal so LOL And it doesn't rule us anymore *Shrugs*

Oh, no, we actually consider ourselves lucky (or we should) as we weren't dominated by Spain or Iggy 
And y'know, the colonization wasn't that bad. Firstly because Portugal forbid to make the Indians slaves (Duh. It didn't work 100%, but it was a good start) and secondly for things there and there, like the priests that came to convert the Indians, some were really well received and they loved them XD Of course, colonizators[?] sort of pushed them around because they wanted the lands, but it wasn't really that bad. Portugal was much softer, me thinks XD (And I'm thankful for that ffff)

My opinion of Spain during that era is he knew very well what he wanted, which was the gold and any other source of profit *idiot*
Port on the other hand was more interested in what the agriculture could provide (sugar cane, spices, etc). Which is far more clever because it's a renewable source of income >D

Oh, why I'm not surprised. Thing is, we like to blame everything in others. Government, Portugal, United States and I don't know who else. But it's very common to see us complaining, complaining and... not doing anything. Port lost interest in the beginning (1500), because we didn't have gold. Well he was more interested in the Asian market back then, but he did see potential in Brazil. Otherwise he wouldn't have pushed the line in the Tordesilhas treaty to get more land (you probably know of the rumor that he knew about the existence of the Americas before that idiot Columbus forced him to play a much more intensive role in Brazil.
