Photo done by my wife, ordered by the grand mother of this girly.

Yes brown paper is great to draw portrait, good for the skin tints, the middle tint is ok, just add the light and shades It's easier to do than on white paper.

That's OK....I am very patient and thankful with your return replies at any year....hahahaa. I think your pencil portraits are amazing! I love them!
I've been painting some very very small canvases that are about 2 inches and come with a cute wooden easel. Now I am painting a huge painting - which is a nude. I bought a fantastic keyboard - a Yamaha Clavinova and am enjoying playing this. I prefer it to my piano which I have to tune. It has been cold - about 12 degrees, but this coming week they say it will be about 18 and the sunset is getting later each day. I can't wait for spring. I dislike the lack of sunlight in winter. hahaha I know that, my first babies portraits looked like potatoes too I draw since a long time, my first potatoes portrait was when I was 14 years old, I drawn the portrait of the mum of a friend. Now I'm 45 years old and I draw always like a crazy I always learn
