There are actual blue moons-astronomically, a blue moon happens when there are two full moons in the same month. Because this does not happen very often, that's where the phrase comes from. In Jesus' name amen is just something people say when they're done praying-it's a religious thing. And when one is stuck between a rock and a hard place it means that while they have two options, neither option is really desirable by the person.
