-he pauses and takes a deep, shaky breath-
Within all things light... there is darkness.
Within all things dark... there is light.
This statement held true in nearly all cases. I am not sure if you are all aware or not, as I have not spoken much about the incident... but I have recently lost someone who was very close to me. Some of you knew her... some of you may never know her now.
-he winces as tears roll down his cheeks, but he makes no attempt to wipe them away-
In her darkest moments, there was always a metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel. Behind her bright smile, was a horrible evil that not one of us could have expected... or hoped to control. In the year she spent with us, we grew fond of her for her brokenness. We loved her flaws... as I have seen others do for me. She gave me hope. Hope that no matter how broken a person is, that there is always light. there is always something to look forward to. There is always someone out there that will love you.
We fought... -he chuckles through his tears, his ears lowering- ...a lot. She could be so thick-headed at times... so irritating. So irrational. So foolish and naive. -he smiles weakly as more tears come- ...but so lovable. I just wish that she had not left this world before I was given the chance to tell her. I cannot escape the fear that she left never knowing... that I cared for her. I certainly have my regrets.
-he takes another deep, shaky breath as he tries to fight back the tears, but they still come, streaming down his cheeks and dripping from his chin-
But... from her, I have learned something very valuable... and that is never to hold back. Never to do anything halfway. May she be the one I look to for hope... just as I took inspiration from her in life... let death never separate us from those we love.
-he breaks down sobbing into his hands, wailing pathetically for some time... minutes pass before he finally, slowly calms down, tiny whimpers escaping him as he sits back up with lowered ears and a deep frown on his face as if it's permanently burned there-
I believe I have... -he sniffles- rambled... for long enough. I leave you with those words fresh in your minds...
My dearest little Jadey. My niece. My friend. My inspiration. May you find peace in the world beyond our own.

*He paces softly into the room, his head bowed so that his fringe covers his eyes, the soft clinking of his metal leg softened by his gentle pacing. He stops just behind Vaaters, his head still looking towards the ground*

*He begins to speak...his voice heavy with it's usual distortion...his attempts to sound soothing crumbling from beneath him as the other's emotions re-kindle his own*
There will always be light…
because in her face…
in her heart…in her eyes…
That's where the true light lived…even when…D..darkness itself pulsed through her veins, h..her own light…shone through that void
a..a.and…now that the darkness is gone….
*His voice begins to crack…his face still concealed from view*
That…that void….is gone…her light can shine without being dimmed…she can continue to light our world…so that we will never fall into darkness again.
*…He advances slowly and puts a hand on his shoulder…still avoiding eye contact, the only visible feature on his face being his teeth…clenched tightly together, not allowing his own tears to spill*
She is our light, she is our hope.
She will never…truly be gone.
*He takes in a breath and squeezes the other's shoulder gently...freezing in that position, trembling slightly*

-he listens to him as he speaks, biting his lip and looking away, but then leans into his touch as he rests a hand on his shoulder, his ears lowering-
Odd... is it not? How... a shadow could bring such light to our lives? -he smiles through his own tears as he looks up at him- She has done so much for so many people without even being aware of it. It is... glorious... yet sad. It is as though she, herself, was sacrificed in order to give us that ...light.
-there's a pause-
...Though... as you said, she is never truly gone, as her kindness and her actions live on in us all. We live on for her. In a way... each of us whose lives were touched by her in some form or another, metaphorically hold a little metaphorical piece of her somewhere within us and we are keeping her alive.
-he sighs with a gentle smile on his face as he leans into the other's side, resting his head on him-

*He smiles gently, his own eyes still welling up with tears threatening to spill, once again squeezing the other's shoulder gently...almost as if he was not only trying to comfort the other....but himself also. He hesitates....before sitting cross legged next to the other, leaning Vaaters' head on his shoulder and gently leaning his own head on the other's...suddenly seeming so....tired...as if he hadn't slept since the tragedy occurred.*
Odd...she was who she was I guess....
*His voice is solemn...reflective, his visible eye still wet yet at this point...trying to be hopeful*
But....You're....right....
She lives through us...because she will always be remembered.
*His head droops off the other's head slightly, his fringe now covering both of his eyes as his own tears finally fall. He mumbles through his tears*
She was...imperfect...but....in that she was...so...perfect....
*His voice wavers slightly before chuckling through his tears, almost choking*
It...probably doesn't make any sense...but....she was able to forget the pain. Not only that....she was able to make everyone else forget the pain. That....despite her imperfections she was never visibly...a..a.angry at her situation she was.....hopeful....a.a..and to her....it almost felt like nothing was wrong!
and it made me feel the same way!!
*His voice cracks as he suddenly outbursts in passion...before breathing in and out and whimpering slightly....pausing for a couple of seconds*

-he takes a deep shaky breath-
ahh... where to begin, where to begin... Jadey was... different. I do not particularly know what else to call her. We jokingly called her "special" because of her mental shortcomings. -he sighs- I feel guilty now, admittedly. Had any of us known the severity of these things I highly doubt we would have made fun of her for them.
When she first came to our world, she was very dark and withdrawn. Over time she started to... regress? I would say she began to act more like a child. It was unnerving at first, mind you. A grown woman acting like a little girl. She had an obsession with princesses. She wanted to become one so badly, but always went on about how she could not... because she was a shadow. Her dark nature wore away... she became playful and loving...
-he winces and tries to hold back his tears, but they spill anyway and he sniffles gently-
She was my niece. Not biologically, mind you, but just... she took to my brother-in-law like a mother figure, as odd as that may sound. Then... eventually she warmed up to my brother as a father figure.
-he smiles through his tears with a soft chuckle-
Uncle Vaaters. -he sobs gently, still smiling- Uncle Vaaters, uncle Vaaters. She... she was so kind and determined. I was so cruel to her. -he slams his fist against a nearby surface, his smile and chuckle gone now and replaced by anguish- Somehow she was never discouraged by me. Somehow, despite my cruelty and despite my shunning her, she still loved me anyway. Like my Jammsie. Like my brother. Like Ventri...
-there's a long pause as he takes deep, shaky breaths and sniffles softly, attempting to regain his composure-
I have... tried... to understand it. Unconditional love... it makes no sense to me. Why would a person give up so much for someone while expecting nothing in return? Why did she love me? Why do I feel this PAIN in my chest when I think about her!? Augh.
-he continues to sob gently-
