Featured   December's - I've Been Inspired FeatureGreetings fellow Deviants!
Lately I've had the privilege of enjoying inspiring art from many of you and I would like to show my appreciation.  I haven't assembled this collection of features from any ONE particular gallery category.  Rather, I've spent some time on the forums looking at your shared work.  I've visited the galleries of those who kindly shared words of encouragement or well received criticism on my work.  And I've followed thumbnails to your works through the many various groups I watch.  However I've stumbled upon your work, I have enjoyed it and I want to thank you for sharing your art with the community.

Excellent shot, they look really neat

These are actually insect-leaf galls (distinguished by the host plant and the shape of the gall itself). These look like they are possibly Witch-hazel leaf galls made by aphids. Insects like flies and mites also make galls on plants. Inside the galls will be tiny aphids undergoing metamorphosis, they grow wings and emerge-very much like caterpillars turning into butterflies

I love it, it's so alien.  Just completely extraterrestrial looking.  And once again, you nailed it with the title
