Description i apologise to everybody i promised a nice picture.
its another monster....

i made it for creature of the week on conceptart.org
this is the briefing we got for the creature :

Creature Description: Bloody, Buggery, Curly-Headed Bloodsuckers of Portsmouth-- In 1527, King Henry VIII constructed Southsea Castle in Portsmouth, England. Henry had built the castle with moneys from the dissolution of the monasteries of England, following his break with the Catholic Church. During the construction of Southsea Castle, and unbeknownst to Henry and his court, a terrific nest of undead, aquatic horrors were awoken and stirred. They would lie dormant in the sludge and waters off Southsea Castle for another 18 years, gathering strength by feeding off the offal of the sea, having slumbered beneath the new foundation of Southsea Castle for centuries. On October the 31st, 1545, Henry would return to Southsea to admire his naval ships in advance of an attack he had planned against the French Naval Fleet. During a dinner at the castle, when the full moon had reached its peak in the sky Henry and his court witnessed a horror unlike any in recorded history. Around the shores of Southsea Castle a great, roiling school of sea monsters broke the surface of the water, swam out en masse to Henry's vice-flagship, the Mary Rose, boarded it, razed the ship, killed all 500 sailors and crew on board, and sank the Mary Rose into the sea. The creatures disappeared into the sea and were never seen again. Bodies recovered from the massacre revealed vampire-like bite marks on each of the victims around the necks, armpits and ankles. Descriptions of the creatures appearance varied greatly, but most described them as vaguely human-sized and gaunt, with shiny, pale, hideous skin, and each bore a great, voluminous, curly mane of dark, oily hair. Some witnesses described them as 'fish-men'. Others thought they looked more serpentine with limbs. Upon realizing the extent of the massacre the creatures had caused to his Navy, Henry was said to have exclaimed "Bloody, buggery, curly-headed bloodsuckers!!" Although few in Henry's court would speak of their belief openly, many viewed this unspeakable attack as God's vengence for the dissolution of the Catholic monasteries and the use of the funds garnished from said dissolution in building Southsea Castle.

First word. WOW. I love the over all creature design and how the back ground scenery tells a little story almost. The monster itself goes with the background very well as if that "IT'S" turf and you would not dare to intrude on it. The ship also gives depth in the piece, as if the monster had just victimized the crew members. The colors are also fantastic! A very swampy murky feeling which I can tell that is what you were going for. This is the type of imagination I have and would hope to express my work in this manner. Perhaps we can collaborate. But back to the critiquing, there is not much negative things to say except maybe the red tongue. The color red is the second color the eye sees. and allot of attention gets pulled to the tongue. Maybe a black or darker red tongue, would fix this. Any way great work! And do please to continue your work!

This is quite an interesting visually appealing piece. The monster is unlike many I have seen, while still playing on people's innate animistic fears. The long spindle-like limbs remind one of thin bones, but end in fins that at first (to me at least) resembled claws. The curved revealed back bone is one of the best parts of it making it look not only realistic as a spine, but while also keeping to the fish part of the story (which I found incredibly interesting and an excellent call on your behalf). The only things I don't exactly like are the teeth and hair which don't match the story. The teeth are like fish teeth, but couldn't leave a mark like you say it could in the tale because of the placement. The hair is also quite thin, not thick as it is described and doesn't add to the piece itself. The hair doesn't match it well, and could be made to look creepier and not as if they are bangs.

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room

I find it intruiging because it's just so creepy looking. Most people hate this kind of stuff visually, but I love how the creature looks like it must hobble to move. The enlongated arms and bent backbone really add to the creature feature in this. And the little splotch of blood is a nice touch, especially since the blood isn't overpowering the peice. Very nice.
