Description “Inspired” by Google's choice of fonts for its logo in the “Earth day” (April 22nd)

(Photoshop) a quick sketch, coloured even quicker, that actually is not even the image I was thinking, but still I’m strangely very pleased with it. It happens sometime…

Dang, you're awesome at doing rocks and grass.. that's so sweet, it's like an earth golem XD
I noticed google had that earthly thing going, was wondering what that was for. Cool!

... An Earth golem? Nice idea!
And thank you for the line about rocks and grass (coming from such a fantastic "colourer" like you, it's really a great compliment, I'm flattered), I lately discovered a quicker way to colour that is easier and gives good results: apparently it worked for the rocks

those animals must be very patient, since there are already spiderwebs on this guy!

makes me sad I missed Google's front page that day

I've to admit I didn't knew Harryhausen (though, actually, I knew very well his works), but thank Wikkipedia I quickly made up that cultural gap of mine. Your is an amazing compliment, thank you!

I love the fact that you can look at this over and over, and each time find a new thing you didn't see before. As someone else below said, the little details are wonderful.

It's really nicely coloured too - for a "quick" job

For me "quick done" doesn't mean "done with less love". To the contrary!
When I draw/colour something I really like (aka: when I have fun) I've the tendency to end it quickly. Often I'm even perfectly happy with just the scketch and when I spend more time on a piece is because it is becoming an obsession or I don't like it or it's a pic for someone else -a gift or a request-

Glad you liked the pic and its details: I have a lot of (childish)fun doing them!!!

It's beautiful. I especially like all the little details, my favorite of which is the little pink snake!

The snake? of all the animals in there is my favourite too. And the snail (even if I'm not exactely sure if "a watcher" can understand where it is... perhaps it's too small and rough to be "seen")

The snail is the eye. Adorable.

Interesting - I like how it's all more earth than human and you kind of have to look to see the figure there - very good eye-trickery there.

Thank, I have so much fun in drawing this one that almost was sad when I ended it (at a certain point I couldn't add other details or it would have become a mess). Actually "he", for my taste, is even too much anthropomorphic...
