I've finally managed to take some promotional pics for my Star Wars fanfilm titled Dual Worlds. The plot involves a writer named Nick (yes, me) struggling to complete the SW crawl and first scene of his novel. This conflict leads him into a journey beyond his wildest imagination as he encouters his own creation, Valaryc Versai and soon learns he's become a character in another person's story not his own.This poster represents Val with his back turned, while his saber blade illuminates him in the darkness. If you look close enough you will also see Nick. Sith use red blades, Jedi use green and blue blades but Val as a new breed of noble Dark Jedi uses orange.
I chose to go with a somewhat simple logo that demonstrates two tones to push the duality and has a nod to the formatting of the prequel logos with my own unique twist.
More to come as time progresses.

Yes, Val has had several lightsabers during his lucritive career in the Versai Chronicles. He originally built his first lightsaber which had an orange blade when he trained in the Dark Jedi Academy but has his weapon was taken away from him after a battle with Cire. After Gen Zeridian's death, he took up her lightsaber and carried a purple blade.
When he went to the first death star in ANH to confront Krevlin, he acquired Obi Wan's lightsaber after he vanished in the duel with Vader. Later Vader persued Val but he got away with a minor injury.
For years after Val fought using two lightsabers, one blue and one purple. Later when Val felt Obi's saber was growing frail he created a golden yellow blade lightsaber to replace it, using purple and yellow. In my book Deception, Val is forced out of retirement in which he takes up Obi's blue saber and Gen's purple saber. However Gen's saber is stolen from him, leaving Val to fight with Obi's blue saber and his yellow saber.
During a final battle with Quillion, Obi Wan's infamous blue saber is destroyed.
Eventually Val acquires his father's lightsaber which is green. Gen's purple lightsaber is also destroyed but after her miraculous resurrection, she builds Val a new orange bladed lightsaber to battle with which brings his training full circle when he goes toe to toe with Q2. By the end of VC Resurgence his orange lightsaber survives but his golden yellow saber is destroyed while he gives his green saber to his sister Sara Versai.
So the breakdown is
First Saber - Orange
Second Saber - Purple
Third Saber - Blue
Fourth Saber - Yellow
Fifth Saber - Green
Sixth Saber - Orange

great work man! i'm loving the concept of the noble dark jedi. it's kinda what Jorus C'baoth looks like to me, as far as i go in Heir of The Empire.

Quite a unique premise you have going on here, and I like this image too, it's quite cool. Now, I know nothing about lightsabers but I would have to wonder if holding the blade that close is safe. Seems like, as easily as limbs go flying in lightsaber battles that one wouldn't want the blade that close to him. That's more of a joke than a crit, by the way.

Well I will tell you the same thing I told the last couple people who asked me about that attribute.
Technically a lightsaber puts off no heat according to SW lore, this is how Obi Wan, Anakin, and Maul can hold a lightsaber so close to their body/face and not suffer a hidious sunburn effect. They only create heat when touching another object directly. If you look at some of the Anakin AOTC promotional shots where he holds his lightsaber directly behind him vertically, you'll see what I mean.
Now as this is a photograph, when I took this shot the dowel I put in my lightsaber was not touching my body in any way, it only gives the illusion of being really close to my skin. If the blade isn't touching me, then the lightsaber blade isn't touching me either, which although it is VERY close to causing serious injury, this shows the mastery Val has over his weapon because as close as it is to him, its not touching anything.
