VIEW #1 (back) - Now with button!After finding a lack of focus and projects to deal with due to my laptop crashing, I decided to take Lon Wol's lightsaber from 2D into the third dimension with Maya.
Everything took a lot of trial and error, especially making a gem shader for the blue stone but I think it really paid off. The detailing and multi-level pieces were a real challenge.
I really love how this turned out because the lighting is as dramatic as always leaving you to wonder how the lightsaber ended up on the floor of a ancient temple and what is causing the mysterious red light, another saber perhaps?

Really nice lightsaber. Uh, with the blue 'ball' on the end, though, it looks like a sonic screwdriver. Which is cool in and of itself!

Just one thing... I think the ground reflects too much. Ancient temples usually don't have polished floors.
