This is really cool, but because i have neither the time or money to pull this off, I was planning on just doing it so that the gun is... normal i guess. No lights. ANy suggestions?

You probably want to use some white plastic or cardboard cut and stick to that shape.

In the actual cosplay, we did fix the bow. It's taken care of. For My prop making tutorial photo ref, I did not take the picture with the red bow.

I never bought any sponge. I picked the sponge that was discarded.

I got my sponge from rubbish dump. But you do not required exactly to follow the material I used. My post only serves as a guide. U can have styrofoam base or PVC sheet structure or corrugated plastic sheet structure. Is a simple gun shape, Look forward to your finally products.
