Description I built this costume last year for my art class. It's based off both the beaked outfits worn by doctors during the black plague and the bodies of the fleas that carried the plague from house to house.
Its made completely from felt and burlap and had to be stitched completely by hand because my sewing machine is crap.

I'm diggin' this. Though I have to ask- what's the bulge in the belly supposed to be?

Everyone asks me about the belly lol, it links in with my theme for that art folio which was 'armour in all its forms', thus the belly is based on the concept of the womb being a kind of 'human armour'. The rest of the armour is based around the forms of medieval german and italian armours as well as insect and arachnid bodies and exoskeletons.
Sorry for the late reply too btw

Would you mind if i use your design for a character concept? Not a copy ofc, just a refference picture, because i really like how you combined the stuff.

I really do like it! It's a concept i never seen before, something different from the classic long cape that covers everything.
Thank you too!

What else do you do? You don't have many pictures up here.
Also, what's the bulge at the belly (?) for?

lol, i know, i had another account with a lot of my past work on it, although i deleted it a while ago and i haven't gotten around to uploading the rest of my stuff yet. I do a lot of drawings and copperplate etchings and i also do a lot of fabric experiments and sculpting.

I recognised the Plague Doctor part of it, and the medieval armour, and the insect like nature of it. Thought it was awesome. The womb part is an interesting idea. I'm so jealous that you know how to make that sort of thing, and had a chance to make it.

Do it, upload! I'd love to see some copperplate etchings, particularly!

I'm only just learning how to draw, myself. I've always been too nervous to do it, worried that I'd stuff it up. Which was completely counter productive, I know.

Hope you don't mind me messaging, I'm feeling a bit lonely tonight. /insecure. lol

Sorry for the mega late reply, i've been really down for a while and haven't felt like doing much other than sleeping lol

As for your own drawings and you getting nervous about doing them, my trick is to just let my ideas flow onto the page and to not edit anything until the end.

I don't mind messaging at any time, although again i'm sorry for the slow reply
