I used one of these babys for a while. Was a real good life saver. Only getting ammo for the thing was a pain

how was it a pain? The Deputy uses caseless ammo like any other weapon in SR5e and the game doesn't state any calibres for anything. You could get normal heavy pistol ammo at the next stuffer shack or gun shop as they are only 2R
Unless your gm has some weird reason that low restricted cannot be bought at places that should have them or simply as a matrix delivery or played at a place that doesn't allow any kind of firearm.

oh I made a mistake here. I meant the Cavalier Arms Sheriff from S4. The problem with that was the availability of the ammo. Sorry man. Still a great pic

Ok, no idea what the availability of 4e ammo is or if the sheriff as some special rules. Saw the picture for the sheriff though, and i do like it. Just some stuff i don't understand and is missing but still a cool design.

the thing only shoots high powered rounds and they have an availability of 20F. I just had to get a quallity at character creaton just to get a full magazin.

now i can understand the problems you had getting ammo for the Sheriff
though i guess with 8p and -4ap it was worth it

definitely worth it, but I recommend making a deal with your GM in modifying the thing into taking regular bullets too. Otherwise you might end up as a one trick pony
