Description A shadowbox of and his sweetheart. I'm sorry it took me for flipping ever to finish constructing it. >_<

I've still got to mail this off to E and then I'll start testing the lovely Mane and Tail patterns people have been sending me.

P.S. I almost forgot to mention, this is based on a super adorable drawing by ( ethepony.tumblr.com/post/30624… ) with some modification for Greyscarf's OC's changes.

Thanks!

I learned the basics from a class that taught a while ago. I'd watch them to see when they run more online classes.

I can't afford to make one and I couldn't make one if I tried

Uh... ok. The materials aren't all that expensive. I think the one in this deviation cost me around $5 - 10 worth of paper plus like $5 for the frame.

Heya Valley, do you have any tips for spacing the cardstock from the glass?

They sell these little foam spacer dots for scrapbookers to use (they've got adhesive on both sides). I've been using the "Recollections" brand ones you can get at Michael's Craft, but I'm pretty sure you can use whichever ones you want (just don't mix brands in one piece because the heights of different brands may be different).

Also, if you want to get into shadowboxes I'd highly recommend taking one of 's classes. They're super fun and teach you all the basic construction techniques.

Thanks! I know about the foam spacers, but I meant the frame. The frames I know don't leave any space between the glass and the back. I'm currently using this method , but it's a bit tedious!

And I know about their classes, I can't wait for them to open again!

Ahhh... ok. So I'm buying shadowbox frames from Michael's Crafts. They come with plastic spacers built in.

I don't do commissions for shadow boxes, but does.

Thanks!

Everything I know about shadowboxes I learned from taking one of 's kit classes. I do some things different than they do (more negative space colors and layers for outlines) but they cover all the basic techniques for construction and their designs are beautiful.
