The two-story town hall was built by the Zhitomir Magistrate in the 18th century. Performed in the Renaissance style.
An ancient mansion on Zamkova Square, built for the head of the Zhytomyr Catholic eparchy, is called in Zhitomir an episcopal house.
Now here is located Zhytomyr Regional Museum of Local History, founded in 1865. The funds number 150 thousand monuments of history and culture.
The main exhibition areas are occupied by the art department of the museum, where a unique collection of works of fine art of Italian, Dutch, French, Polish and Russian masters of the 16th-20th centuries.
