The Hagia Sophia Cathedral Church is located on Zamkova Square in the city Zhitomir. The construction of the Catholic Cathedral ended in 1751. It was created in the Baroque style with elements of the Renaissance. The facade is divided into two tiers, the upper part is decorated with two sharp spiers, as well as the sculpture of the Virgin Mary. The walls of the church are faced with a brick, the thickness of which reaches 2 meters, which indicates the possibility of using this structure on the defensive.
In the XIX century, the church was rebuilt, changing the appearance to a more classic, but at the same time retaining the interior decoration.
