Well the thing about this hat is that it's kind of free handed and my skill has improved vastly since I made it so that pattern doesn't work for me. But basically how I went about it was that I increased by 6 for 13 rows. so that last one was 78 stitches, then from there I just single crocheted around while changing colors from that point and ever 4 rows. I did thing until I had about 33 rows. and as for the flaps I went to the middle of the back, count 14 each way and then single crocheted 14 from there(didn't joing back in until the 15th stitch from the center. and from then in was single across, dec 2, sc across, until I had about 6 or 8 stitches left. Then I just single crocheted around. for the border. I tried to recreated it with that pattern but it hasn't come out right for me, and I lost my files with my pattern :C Hope this helps. Note me if you need any help
