1. If this happened in the show, they would have killed all the Eds and put their heads on sticks like in the Lord of the flies.

no, i know which is which. just Ed was a force of nature and extremely strong (which #3 is) and Eddy was supposed to be the sly scammer (which #1 is) but the face of #3 matches Eddy and the face of #1 matches Ed.

Ed is strong, but not bulky. I wouldn't say the gentleman in the first image looks "sly".
I expected these designs to be rather obvious, if not cheap, as the fathers are the spitting image of their sons.
