Description Lola from The Looney Tunes Show with the original Lola from Space Jam as her grandmother.

In one of the Looney Tunes Show episodes (www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDskfu… ) Lola was wondering to herself about who she was named after, and her second crippled guess was her grandmother, who she immediately confirmed to be named "Betty" instead. The joke could've been an interesting piece of trivia, but sadly enough the show didn't go that far.
But there are always two grandmothers.

Lola Bunny has caused alot of pointless grief on the internet, so it seems. Since there is alot of hate and rage going towards this new Looney Tunes cartoon series alone, especially towards the redesign of Lola, I think it would've satisfied everybody if The Looney Tunes Show perhaps confirmed both Lolas to be different characters. Or relatives.
But really, they are pretty much from a different dimension and therefore already different characters, so that should be reason enough not to hate either of them.

I have no real issues with the new or the old Lola. Though, the new design could've kept her blue eyes, and it would've been great in general if the old Lola was given the chance to really become something the new Lola is now. Without changing her appearance. Her appearance is not the problem.

The original Lola recieved the bad luck to have little screen time in Space Jam, and therefore didn't get decent character developement or a decent character introduction. But what we do know about her is that she is helpful, has a clear and collected mind, but maybe is a tad too serious/normal to be considered a "Looney Tune". But really, who says she's a Looney Tune. She came out of nowhere, maybe she was just a regular cartoon character passing by.
The new Lola isn't drop-dead-sexy anymore, giving me the feeling the media still believes attractive people can't be funny, but nevertheless, she is really funny. The obsessive stalker-girlfriend concept isn't a new one, and I'm wondering why they're not giving Pepe Le Pew more screen time instead, but it shouldn't really be that much of a problem. Like I said, the new Lola is funny.

My siblings often watch The Looney Tunes Show, and unlike Johnny Test, I allow them to watch this cartoon, because it isn't a total piece of unfunny crap.
They talk about Lola the most and describe her to be "a complete maniac", in a funny way, and were very interested when I told them about the original Lola. Which is strange, as I showed Space Jam to them at least a year before, but apparently they forgot.
After they saw the movie again, they weren't appalled/bored/aroused by Lola or started hating the new one for being dumb.
So, these two young children are more mature than all of you.

You should all be grateful that Lola Bunny has not been forgotten.

Also, people, if you cherish the old Lola so much, maybe you should quit the disgusting fanart. So far everybody has given the new Lola way more dignity than the old one, when looking at the art fans barfed out for both characters. We don't want to see the old Lola inflated or her crotch in our faces.

I like your idea that the original Lola would be new Lola's grandmother. It would be interesting if the show actually did that cool trivia thing.

Lola is a character who have no talent at all.
In Space Jam all what she showed is that she have basketball skills and that she don't like to be called as "doll".

In The Looney Tunes she had turned into a sort of non action Amy Rose who keept having a psychotic crush on Bugs.

A lot of people thinks that Lola should be Babs Bunny tutor, but in all of Lola's appearances she have nothing to teach.

She don't do any kind of looney skills, she doesn't do any kind of impressions, she doesn't do anything in her own (specially in The Looney Tunes Show) and is not even competent.

She is more like the "all looks and no skill" type of character.

Can't agree more especially that it isn't total crap considering the fact that most of the shows on Cartoon Network make me squirm when my Kids watch them. Now it finished i have to quickly retreat to the other side of the house after work. By the way fantastic work you are truly talented.Β

Couldn't agree more. I didn't like the Loonet Toones show at first, but it really grew onto me. It's not the funniest show in existence, but it's not like it was supposed to be. The art style is pretty good, and I'm still entertained nonetheless

Also, I can't thank you enough for not allowing your siblings to watch Johnny Test. Their brains would've rotted like all the characters in that show.

I have to agree with you have you noticed that new sonic boom cartoon that is out not there is no rouge the bat.and if you think about it it's not just lola that is being turned in to a sexy symbol its just about every cartoon character isn't safe from those people who want to see them undressed or having sex.

so you know the horrible secret of johnny test eh. that johnny test is what happens when you flip dexters lab upside down. giving everyone a direct foil while splitting dexter into twin. johnny is a sugar enraged Dee Dee (stupid too, dee dee didn't have a problem with her grades), their mother is dexters dad (flipped as in dexters dad relaxes at home and she doesn't always or ever you just see her eat once or twice sleep and than leave for the morning) and than their father is dexters mom ( both clean freaks only difference is that she doesn't bug her kids as much). even the situation is flipped as the paren't in JT know of the lab while DL doesn't

The "new" Lola sucks! She use to be a strong, sexy, tomboy who didn't want Bugs and Bugs wanted her.
But now she's a weak, cute, girly, freak who wants Bugs so much and Bugs doesn't want anything to do with her!

I don't really like the old Lola. Β She had no personality and was some strange rabbit sex symbol, it was weird. Β The new Lola is kyoot and funny, as opposed to sexy. Β Animal characters SHOULD be kyoot instead of sexy, they are animals, it's kinda weird when one is made to be a sex appeal.

Yeah Lola in space jam just came across as a female bunny made for Bugs, there's didn't seem to be much to her character besides being overly sexual.
That's why I kind of like the new Lola, it shows what happens when you make a character with only the intention of being paired off, that there's going to be a problem if they're nothing but a love interest.Β

That they turn into a crazy love maniac with no other purpose in mind, since no one thought to build their character first. >D

Thank you! You just described the whole lot of fans out there that make up all the Fandom of EVERYTHING. The arguments over character's and their new designs, their new personalities, the like. When we get a new show, funny or not, we have to accept that it's NEVER going to be the same, even if it's from the same people that made up the first show, because they want to appeal to the audience in a different way which means adding and taking stuff away. Nothing is the same and we need to understand that.

I feel the Looney Tunes over all is great. I enjoyed the old and new Looney Tunes. We also have remember it's called "The Looney Tunes Show". So with a title like this, I did expect some different elements. Not because of a new generation, but because it's capturing The Looney Tunes like a basic television show. Things like "That 70's Show" something like that. You're very right on this, but Lola isn't the only one who has gone through a rather drastic change.Β

The show adds more to the character with a back story while keeping some original elements as well.

In space Jam near the end we see Bugs kiss Lola, and she went kinda nuts about it...that's my only example of Lola being as she is now. I don't think about because it's still good. I can go back and watch the old Looney Tunes with no different thought. It's not to see a modern day Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and others!Β

The Looney Tunes Show does do a great job holding the characters together and connecting them.Β

To sum things up. I accept what they are doing with Looney Tunes.Β

The only thing I could get into was "The Baby Looney Tunes". That I just ignored.

I hope they do more seasons and I really look forward to it!

Also This is a nice drawing (: great great great!

At first, I didn't seem to like either Lola, but as time passed, I grew to further like the new Lola for actually being funny and "LOONEY", which the original never did. In fact, on the subject of the original Lola, apparently Chuck Jones had some ideas for Lola that were rejected in favor of the slut in Space Jam. It makes me wonder: What could Lola Bunny have been?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SaraHouck In reply to OrcaSnack-Garth [2014-04-27 21:38:35 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. You must be really lucky to see that she was forced into some innocent attire for a change to conceal and flatter that shamefully indecent body structure she was drawn with so the inner looniness she was given in the show can easily shine through, especially since focusing on an individual's inner merits is a definite reason why there are dress codes that are so strict, they may have to require wearing layering that seems to stick out like a sore thumb!

Oh my gosh. Thank you so much about the end bit about the really disturbing fan-made pics of Lola Bunny! They are so gross! I like the pics of Lola playing basketball becuase they're cool, it's just the pervy pics of Lola that I hate.

But I prefer the old Lola becuase she was SO badass! Not to mention I'm jealous of her basketball skills.

I understand why they recreated her to fit the looney-tunes show, but that doesn't mean I like it :/ I prefer her original creation, I just wish that they had given her more character. I think that the new Lola is funny, I just prefer the original one

I cringed in fear as I first feasted my eyes upon those pervy pics, but they flew right past me as I got older, so I might've grown some thicker skin. I agree with your thoughts on both Lolas, considering they've received their fair share of overall lukewarm reactions.

I really wished that the old Lola from Space Jam would be in the show too, like old Lola and Lola being twins or whatnot. I Really like the new Lola, She's very funny. But only if the creators mixed the new and old Lola's personality, I guess that would acceptable.

Oh my god, that show.

I remember when we had just moved, and in this new house, we hadn't had all the fancy TV stuff yet, so we had this little TV with a few channels, and it had that channel that was for Warner Brothers stuff. I watched the original Johnny Test, and it wasn't that bad. And then way later, after I hadn't watched the show in a while, Cartoon Network announced Johnny Test coming as a new show, and I'm like: It isn't new...
and oh god they made it horrible

I completely agree with the fanart comment. Although I actually can't stand to watch the new one. (I also have a great deal of hate for the stereotypical blond.) If they had made her a little less derpy but kept the same attitude she would of been a great character. I think it's the fact that she really does not have an intelligence that bothers me. I keep wishing somewhere deep down inside she might have some semblance of a brain in that shell of a head of her's.

As a girl I liked Lola because she was the only girl token chraracter but I did find it weird and sad that she wasn't funny or wasn't that intreseting.

This New Lola I liked right away. We need more funny female characters. I feel like Kids shows are not allowed to have varity in female characters there always have to be 3 types
1; The Bitchy shallow one, who is pretty damsel in distress

2: The tomboy one who is always angry, treats people harsh.

3: The female leader who is often boren blend and perfect but goes for the guy who is less then perfect.

But I'm not sad to see her go. New Lola is superior in pretty much every way.

I haven't seen Space Jam yet, but I don't think it's alright for anyone to criticize Lola. She was giving a small role, and since the makers didn't see Space Jam they wanted to give her more of a personality. Who knows? Maybe if they decide to continue the show, they can illustrate how everyone is maturing as a person.

Grey06 [2013-04-23 07:08:36 +0000 UTC]

I like both Lolas. However, the Looney Tunes show Lola makes her more of a "Looney" Tune character because of her new persona, which is the main reason the Looney Tunes characters are called "Looney" with their wacky personas. Ok, I'll stop saying looney now.

Also, she really makes the SJ Lola a flat character in comparison. My only gripe was that, why couldn't they give TLS Lola her green eyes like the SJ one. (I know that's dumb, but I've gotten over that. We all can't get what we want *shrugs*)

Besides all that, I agree with wholeheartedly.
