I love it!! I like teh borders/markings you added to the wings and the sides of the neck! Nice choose of color scheme! An dthe background fits very well on your representation of Quetzalcoatl!

this is beautiful. I watched a cartoon called Legend Quest the other day about Quetzalcoatl you should check it out if you like Quetzalcoatl. Well, it had Quetzalcoatl as a principle thematic thing in the story anyway, but it also had the Norse Myths and the day of the dead skull lady.Β

Noble and awe-inspiring pic of one the two nicest of the Aztec pantheon (the other being Tlazolteotl, of course!)Β
I haven't seen theΒ combination of turquoise. orange, and gold been used for Quetzalcouatl before, but I find that I love it now that I have seen it. He holds a dignified expression, and I have a soft spot for spiral patterns.
The environs are a tad dark, but it makes Quetzalcouatl look all the brighter in comparison. Perhaps it is during the dawn or dusk? The water effects are really nice.
The only thing here that I think might need some improvement is that the wings look rather small compared to the rest of his body, and the it doesn't quite look like the wings have joints, but other than that, this pic is close to perfection!

Is that a center he came out of, cause if it is, do you realize the significance?
Do you realize that right now he looks like a Phoenix rising from a portal to the Land of the Dead?

The thing about Quetzalcoatl was he was just a serpent with feathers. He's never depicted with wings. And he's much much older than the dawn of the Aztec Empire. He's been depicted as far back as the rise of the Olmecs, the first Mesoamerican civilization.

By different names, yes. And while its true that Quetzalcoatl didn't have wings in most ancient renditions, modern artists seem to like it and I think it gives him a very graceful appearance

Wonderful colors, and I really like the lighting too. It makes me wonder what your definition of "kinda quick" is, because it looks good to me.

I know that guy. Dragonologists believe he was a type of dragon called an amphithere, because both were feathered, winged serpents.

Achem. If you say you lack free time so it's quick, or sketch, or post unfinished pictures... maybe you just usually do it to mildly show how easy is it to draw for you, but I would love to see a FINISHED picture from you. THAT would be great, really.

I really love the pallette of colours and how warm and soft the feathers of The Great Feathered Serpent look.
