Description "Take this staff in your hand, Moses. And with it, you shall do MY wonders." -God, from the Exodus

For those of you who DON'T know, no, the Exodus is not an aline laser-cannon, no, it isn't a gigantic spaceship, and no, it isn't a made up word. The Exodus is the period of history during wich the Jews were enslaved in Egypt and exiled in the desert. Beginning from Moses's escape at birth to the end of his journey.

There arn't enough drawings of Moses on dA . Everybody talks about heroes with supernatural powers, conviction, and unbreakable will. But who was the first hero? The model of all these make-beleives to come? With just his God and a staff, he braved the desert, turned the Egyptian's water to blood, liberated the Jews and made death pass over them, weilding the Power of God himself. Every creature in Egypt bowed to Moses, and in the form of Plagues they made the Pharoh let his people go. And it doesn't end there. For more information on the adventures of Moses, grab your Bible/Torah and you should find it in the Index.

yeah, but its the only section of the book that really breaks its own rules at all
plus, god doesnt really act like god
at all
i've even begun to doubt if it was even god in these situations (if they really happened)

They did, trust me. now if u'll hear my humble words, here is a quote from The World is Alive:

The Bible was inscribed over a period of 2,000 years in times of war and in peace, by kings, peasants, farmers, doctors, prophets, tax collectors, and singers. The fact that a document so perfectly cohesive (unified in structure) coudl have been produced by such a diverse crowd over a pperiod of time, it's staggers the imagination.

The fact that the things themselves happend in fact, because most of it is referenced in other documents, and note the fact that actually events arn't necesarilly exact to detail. Bearing that in mind, some spiritual archaeologists did find evidence that around that long ago, somehting devastating happened to that area of Egypt.

Anyway, like my dad always said "Having a kid DOES change a person. At that point, God didn't give up yet. He had all of these revalations, finally ending with Mohamad, so now we're just going to wait and see how things turn out for us mortals.

well, actually, the only reason all the documents are so uniform is because the hebrew monks had to sift through piles of possible bible material before they put it all together

the old testament was actually found in an old vase some kid broke wne he threw a rock, and it wasn't written by monks. at all. Have you read the bible? And i mean actually picked it up and read it. Seeing as how that's unlikely, i suggest you do it. This is where it starts...

actually, im in biblical literature, where we have to study the bible and its origins
i dunno, thats what i learned, and we actually discuss why the (it doesnt have to be MONKS exactly, but whoever compiled it) decided that these stories were important, and why they were put in the order they are in

Yeah. Now fro mwhat i've learned, the New Testament was written by the Apostles (of course). And hte older stories of the bible weren't actually found untill like i said, a shepard boy threw a rock int oa cave and broke something. Then of course twas' translated, many languages, etc. etc. But my point is,Wether it was Moses, King Solomon, Samson, David, or the Apostles God spoke t othese people and gave them the wisdom of the Holy Spirit before it even had a name.

yeah, except for a few stories like sampson, because with him, he did more harm with his god-given stregnth than good
besides that, God falsely punished the egyptians for sleeping with abraham's wife, (actually, he did this twice) and he almost constantly rewards people's cruelty toward others

but i see where you're coming from
in the musical Godspell, theres a song where jesus is pleading to God to have mercy on his people, and i never really understood it untill i read the OT, so actually, it probably was God in these stories

Looking at history as a whole, i usually think it's as if God was weening us off of himself. Hmm, truly an interesting point. Surely, the Old Testament is greatly a written record of the Isrealites' history. But like you said and i said, the stories are stories, but the Word is the Word.

Wow, it'd be alot easier if we were haivng htis conversation face-to-face. It's like i think of osmehting after i type and well, u get the idea. It's just something i'm going to have ot live with :/. aim is better for this sort of hting. If u ever want to have a discussion like this, im reayd and willing. I don't have many people to talk t oabout this sort of thing :/
