It's been a few days since the deelagun died. Sloan's worried about their friend Amaryllis's injuries - she's been scarred across her face, shoulder, and arm - but worst of all, one of her eyes is blinded. She's been more subdued ever since she'd gotten the wounds, and Sloan is concerned about how she's coping with only half of her eyesight. They wish they could do something to help her feel better, but they were always awful with words - they just hope that being there for her will be enough. They know she's strong; she'll get through this, right?

Everything's seemed so fragile and subdued since the nova tree shattered. Wyngrew rarely smiled, and the town seemed.. heavier, somehow. This was not the triumphant victory everyone had been hoping for - this was the sign of a broken, weary, grieving town. Sloan wondered if any of them would be able to move on.
