Description

Saffron stirred slightly, slowly blinking awake. Light flooded her eyes and she blinked a few times, trying to adjust. She gazed hazily around her, vision slowly focusing. Flowered wallpaper... spotless floors.. sterile white sheets - this was Dr. F's hospital! She sat up suddenly, breathing hard - why was she here? Was she dead? Suddenly it all came flooding back - the cliff - her necklace - falling - someone saving her - Revan. Revan.

Someone was sleeping on Saffron's lap - black hair, dark dark ginger coat, skinny form - it was her. Revan was here, with Saffron. Oh no what do I do? Saffron started panicking again, scooting back until she hit the wall.

Revan opened her eyes, joy instantly lighting up her face. "Saffron!" she cried, hugging Saff tightly. "You're okay!" She laughed, tears spilling down her cheeks. "You've been out for days - I thought you were - I thought -" Her voice broke, and she shook her head.

Saffron looked at her, pain and happiness warring on her face. "Revan," she mumbled, voice hoarse. She coughed and tried again. "Why did you save me?"

Revan's face fell. "What do you mean?"

Saffron pulled away, hugging her knees. "You should've let me die..."

Revan stared at her, shocked. She folded her hands in her lap, not quite sure what to do with them, silent for a moment before saying anything. "Oh Saffron," she whispered. "I would never do that - not ever."

Saffron's lip trembled, and suddenly she hugged Revan, burying her face in her hair. "Please forgive me," she murmured.

Revan smiled again, pulling Saffron closer. "I already have, don't you know?"

"I love you," Saffron whispered.

"I love you, too," Revan answered softly.

Sitting there on the hospital bed with Revan, Saffron had never felt more at home.
