Probably the one thing about the shading, besides being dark, is the fact that the light source is the individual gems mounted in Deoxys' chest. Deoxys is a Pokemon, number err, 300 and something.

Yeah, I'd agree that Deoxys isn't the nicest Pokemon to look at, and it sounds like the spawn of a campy 1930's horror flick. But you've definitely used composition and bright colors to make it look alot more interesting. I also wonder how you make those really nifty starscapes, the one on here is perfectly done.

I don't watch a lot of movies, in fact, I didn't even know movies were made in the 1930's. No wonder I never win at Trivial Pursuit... Thanks for the comments, they're very sweet. Deoxys has a really vibrant cadmium orange sort of color, it's really fun to play with. For some weird reason the color reminds me of tea. The background was really easy to do. For stars, grab a brush and dot like mad. It's kind of sad that it's done manually but there is generally no better way. The aurora was done with an airbrush and a couple colors. I did a couple more things to it but basically a lot of adjusting with the brush.

No, I didn't mean this movie, I meant some other campy flicks. But meh, that's just evidence that I'm losing my touch at commenting. Keep up the good work.

I've seen Deoxys art from Purple Kecleon and someone else most often... Hitachi or something like that. His Deoxys have such bubbly personalities. But generally there is not a widespread amount. I figure it's because of how new it is and also it's appearance... Like how often do people draw, say Muk? *Shrugs* Oh well. Nice to know that the background managed to get the space orienation of the Pokemon across although I feel kind of cheap for doing what is otherwise an easy background.
Thanks for the comments. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for more Pokemon art.
