Whee! Look "print available" -- how new!
... On a strangely framed image no less =_=;;
Well I mainly did it simply because I hadn't before~

Anyway, inspired by;
Yuki Kajiura feat. Eri Itou - Requiem for the Evil (Tsubasa Chronicle)
and
David Wise - Aquatic Ambiance (from Donkey Kong Country)

The original idea was simply a bioluminescent mermaid with vestigial legs, said legs are gone now. XD

Renaissance, incase anyone doesn't know, is French for "rebirth" and generally Europe's reinterest in learning from around the 1300s to 1500s. I chose to use the word to give the idea that the merfolk are embued with the same type of spirit of the Renaissance Era.

I had a lot of fun doing this!
Especially the bubbles and the statues!
The bubbles are moving in a double helix like DNA!
... Shame the bubbles ended up covering the statues' faces. :/

Speaking of the statues!
They are actually a reference to one of my favourite paintings! Hehehe!
And wouldn't you like to know which it is?!
Well, time for an INTERNET SCAVENGER HUNT then!

Here are your clues!
- The artist's name is used in a popular franchise from the 1980s
- The painting is not a religious painting
- It is amoung the most famous Renaissance paintings

Once you find the correct piece, establishing it at the right one should be easy... And then you get to look at a super awesome painting! ^__________________^;;
