Description The Colonial Empire of Aengland
aenglish: Æṅglisce Landbunde Riċe

It's hard to pinpoint an exact date as a start to the Colonial Empire of Aengland, but usually historians point 1756 AD, even though Aengland's first colonial possession date back to the 1690s. In 1756 the Kingdom of Aengland conquered the neighboring Kingdom of Alba, which gave it absolute dominance over the Albion Isles. Since this point onward Aengland focused entirely on its colonial possessions, at times almost ignoring what is happening in neighboring Europe.

The focus of the Aenglish monarchs shifted from their colonial possessions in the Americas to Africa and India, around the 1840s, when the last major colony of Aengland declared independence in 1834. Even though the Empire had major influence across the oceans it never grew into a "grand colonial empire" such as Frankia or the Netherlands, which grew into the world's first great powers.

The Empire came to an end with the independence of the Governate of Muscat in 1982, after a wave of missive anti-colonial protests in Aenland itself and in many of its colonies, a process we saw across all of the world's colonial empires. As a heritage of it's colonial past, now Aenglish is the 4th most spoken language in the world, with around 15% of the population of modern day Aengland being of current or former colonial heritage.
