Description It seems these Chiss like to... attend formal events a lot... I was gonna do some gun shot sniper medic action buuuut did not quite uhh get there got distracted by sparkly things.

I do like the dynamic and the overall outcome.

The female is so darn full of herself... very very hard to get along with and overall not a very nice being. I may post her bio or more a link to it with some later work.

Lovely! The expression on her face especially...quite lovely, yet at the same time very much a "don't cross me; I know who I am, and I am more worthy than you" kind of look.  Guy on her right has almost amused, smirking expression, like whoever she is about to let loose on he can't wait for it. Guy on the left is very stoic Chiss, yet he is definitely looking at HER, and his body language is more...submissive is not right, but that is the word coming to mind.

I feel like she is the heir or head of her branch of the family (one of the ruling nine, for sure), Guy on Right is her younger brother, just as proud of the family as she is, and Guy on the Left is a prospective suitor who is definitely in love with her, but she keeps him dangling, toying with him. A dangerous game that might bite her in the butt if she isn't careful.

I'm probably WAY off, and maybe you will post that bio sometime and prove me wrong, but it's fun to think about.

You got her figured out pretty well

But not one of the ruling nine I never added my own creations into any official houses, we just made our own in roleplay, a much lesser house, however, she was the heir after offing her older brother.

The two males in the picture are on the right the guy that was supposed to keep her in check and later married her and on the left one of her cousins. They got into lots of trouble together but eventually, she stepped up and became quite the leader, albeit a little ruthless and not very forgiving. Her bio though is far too long to post xD

Lol, thanks for saying I had her pretty well figured out, even though I was way off on all 3.

Ah yeah those were good times both males pictured have since quit the game, I only log in for RP and the girl on this picture is back in Csilla now aka retired, I play her sister a lot who ended up as an attache to a pure blood.

Yeah SWTOR seems to be dying out already. Too bad too, I'm really enjoying the game. I really hope they figure out how to draw people back in.

Its a tad restrictive at least for rp'ers. And the gameplay.. eh leveled everything to 50 twice imp side... for me the replay value is gone xD Still do rp in there though

I don't really see that, except for that to keep your companions happy you almost always got to play Lightside even when you are playing Sith. I didn't play Galaxies so I don't have that reference point. I was scared off of the game when I'd watch friends set up their characters at crafting nodes with a weight on one key so it would repeat the crafting action over and over - and then leave their computer run while they left town for the weekend. I really like the stories that go along with the leveling - rather than the standard MMO "I got rats in my cellar, go kill twenty and I'll give you a copper farthing, and when you are done with that, my neighbor has bunnies in his garden he needs eradicated." I don't really have a lot of MMO experience though, this is the first not Free-2-Play I have tried. So I am probably lacking context.

Well if you level 8 character to 50 on the same faction you replay everything the story lines are not different for the other class choice, the planets never change, its the same thing 8 times over with no variation because it is completely streamlined, when you are in Alderaan level range you level in Alderaan, no way around it there is no other planet in that level range there is no alternate storyline you can follow. Same quest same area over and over again no variation. I prefer it when there are other area choices of a similar level range so I can go back and forth between them... in the end i just went to leveling with pvp and only doing storyquests because I could not take those terribly boring areas and quests a 5th... 6th 7th or even 8th time. And the endgame content is lacking, I never play for leveling but the stuff there is to do after you max out and RP. Leveling for me takes 3-4 days in that game then I am done.

WickedPrince In reply to Vaspiira [2012-06-02 04:28:18 +0000 UTC]

Not completely so, you do have your different class-quests, but yeah, that's true for the most part. Though the world stories between the factions is very different.

I am wondering if that will change as they complete more content. After all the game IS only a few months old. I am certain Galaxies didn't have all that much content either "out of the box." And really, name ANY RPG where that basic premise isn't so. There are very very few computer games where you can wander around at-will and take up what-ever quests you want when-ever you want.

No Sith Inquisotpr Sorc storyline is the same as the Sith Inquisitor Assassin, Powertech and Merc is the same, Marauder and Juggernaut is the same and Sniper and operative is the same too I played all of them to 50.
I never played republic to 50, I have no interest in Jedi so after playing them to 30 some in the betas I went with the side I prefer. Though I can say the sages storyline was hands down the worst in the game up until level 30ish never went beyond. Closely followed by the Inquisitor one which was just about as dumb.

Galaxies was a sandbox game you made your own content there was only very very little things to do but the setup of that game was very very different. Apart from Mission terminals where you could do 10 missions a day and later some space stuff and a very few quests you made your own content did your own thing build stuff, pvp'd they are very very different games that can not really be compared.

I agree the game is new, but there is a ton of new games I am currently playing that have lots more variation in how you get to the top and what you do to get there TOR has been the most restrictive and repetitive gameplay in any MMO I played to this date. It is however fine to rp in, until GW2 anyways. My second favorite thing PvP, in TOR is a joke too easy and matches barely ever happen anymore cause my servers population is gone and dead. Sad to say I had more fun in a weekend of GW2 then in all of my time playing TOR cause GW2's pvp is amazing xD. But this is all a taste issue and I am very hard to please after over 10 years of online gaming.((MMO's mostly))

WickedPrince In reply to Vaspiira [2012-06-02 20:22:03 +0000 UTC]

I hope I am coming off as antagonistic. I do have a habit of being argumentative.

But anyways, well "sandbox" to me means that the content creators were lazy and didn't bother writing any story materials - so it's up to you to wander aimlessly around and bash stuff if there is anything to bash. I quit playing Second Life because there was nothing for me to do there but get a job and pretend I have a life. I do that already, and doing it in a game just adds to my personal discontent.

I've never really cared for PvP, games that rely on it generally end up being a haven for griefers, who think it's hilarious to hound low level players who are just trying to get the hang of the game with their maxed out characters. I've tried a few of those, and after being told "that's how the game is played, if you don't like it, quit" I did.

I do agree though that the game is suffering hard with the glut of new games out. But then, the rumor is that Diablo3 is a seven hour story campaign - so how hard is it to produce drek like that? Mass Effect 3 was reasonably enjoyable, but again had about 1/4 the content I expected - they just disguised the lack of story content with a multiplayer option that really has nothing to do with the story itself - but can't be avoided if you want the WHOLE story. I haven't tried any of the other new games so I don't know what they are like.

My first love really is fantasy, but I dislike frps where your only racial choice is human - which is why I never bothered with Guild Wars - it looks lovely though. And the graphics of WoW are terrible just from the screenshots. So there aren't a lot of choices there.

The strongest point SWTOR has going for it is that I found a good guild and made some good friends that I can run Hard Modes and OPs with.

As for the class-stories, yes, the advanced classes do not get their own separate stories. That doesn't surprise me. They shouldn't need to write new class-stories depending on what skill-tree you focused on either, to me that's the same thing - just different facets of the base-classes. And yes, most of the class-stories are a bit overblown. And honestly I liked the Consular story. So far I've enjoyed playing through every story I have tried. They are imaginatively written and often full of odd twists that catch me off guard. My own personal grievance is that the best companions on the Sith side are all Lightside oriented and you have to play Lightside if you want them to favor you. But then IMHO most of the people who want to play Sith don't have any real clue what they are doing anyways - they just want to be different and kewl - just like all their friends. My first Sith character was my Warrior - who I created solely because I wanted the cute Twi'lek girl for a companion. Then the fun of the story got all slanted by the need to cater to her goody-two-shoes nature in order to keep her friendly - purely maddening. I really wish there were more options for companions so that you could gather ones with more compatible attitudes.

I never took the shock collar off her she stopped talking to me eventually... which was alright I <3 Quinn :Later I handed the collar remote to Jaesa who went to town on Vette with it, hilarious.

I cleared all the HM and OPS content within weeks of release and all my friends quit cause they were so bored with the game so I now remain there rp'ing with like 4 people once they quit I am out too. Also cleared the new content they added in 1.2 it was not very impressive and no challenge whatsoever. The people I do rp with are in my GW2 guild though so we all leave together. GW2 has races... quite a few of them. Human is one choice out of five.

You can not grief pvp on a PvE server, the only way to pvp is sign up to an objective oriented BG or go to Ilum ( which no one does) so you end up pvp'ing in a controlled environment no sense to grief there. Though had I known how dead my rp-pve server would be so fast I would have rolled on a pvp server if only for the numbers and some excitement. I hate scripted encounters eventually you know what they will do exactly when they will do it and how to counter it playing against actual players... you can not quite predict what will happen every time. As for D3 or Mass effect... I do not play games like that, they bore me Mass Effect may be the most boring game I ever watched being played so I never had the desire to pick it up.

WickedPrince In reply to Vaspiira [2012-06-05 01:01:43 +0000 UTC]

I honestly considered not taking the collar off of Vette, but I wanted to romance her so I figured I'd better start off playing nice. After all the only reason I played the SW was so I could romance her. None of the other romance options for ANY of the other characters inspired me at the time, and I really wanted to romance the cute Twi'lek, after all blue IS my favorite color.

Not being griefed in the PvE server is why I chose to play only on PvE and RP servers. If the only option had been to play on a PvP server I would never have signed up for it. I heard that there is already a big stink going around because a group was griefing noobs on one of the PvP servers and a dev chewed them out for it. The griefers reported the dev in the forums and the dev was "dealt with." And I'll say that I beg to differ. The sith figured out a way to do it during the Rakghoul Plague. They massed up around Republic players and made sure that they were all in random stages of infection so groups would be constantly popping. And if a Sith popped on you and you were infected YOU were immediately tagged for PvP - and then mobbed. The last ten hours or so of the event there were around 60 Sith surrounding the vendor who was buying the plague spores so you couldn't get at him without being mobbed. Tactics like that made it so that I couldn't even take my Jedi Sage onto Tattooine after about the second day - a Pub group was building up to take on one of the Plague Bosses when a Sith mob showed up and tangled with a few of us who were flagged, dragging nearly our whole mob into the fray. After a few seconds of beating on a Sith Jugg that was getting healed nearly as fast as I damaged him I looked around for one of their healers and went after him. Their entire mob switched targets to me before I'd hardly touched the guy, and for the rest of the week every time I took my sage to Tatt another Sith mob jumped me. But those were fairly isolated incidents.

I can understand how you feel with the number of people who have quit. I can understand why people would quit, but I still really enjoy the game and my guild, so I'm staying in the hopes that improvements will continue. I do have to say I'm a bit skeptical about your finding the new areas "easy" as I've tried most of them and found them unbelievably difficult. Lost Island is horrific in Story Mode let alone HM. On the other hand this is my first real MMO - the closest I get otherwise was back when I used to play Neverwinter Nights on the BDSM/kinky social servers. My long and intense stint with that is why I shy away from doing online RP now though.

I am very very well geared! We had cleared all the content before the new stuff so we went in with the best gear currently available, also 7 years of progression raiding in WoW in blue gear in the beginning has basically taught us how to adjust to new things very quickly as we were going for server firsts and world top 20 kills if possible. I am my groups healer, we have a very very capable tank and two top notch dps, and once you know what happens when... encounters really are not a problem anymore.

WickedPrince In reply to Vaspiira [2012-06-05 10:34:44 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense. I've managed to pick up a nearly full suit of Columi gear for my DPS Consular/Sage and it's done a world of improvement over the stuff I had when I did my first HMs. The community that has stuck with the game - at least on Vrook Lamar server - is pretty awesome. I found a guild that focuses on helping anyone who wants to do HMs to survive them, and promotes us getting gear upgrades by using a system of treasure transfers where they control treasure flow and people who really need a piece get a chance at it. A bit more monitored than the default "Need or Greed" system. I've gone on runs with people I didn't know before this who "Needed" everything, and then justified it afterwards when we called them to task for needing an item they couldn't even use - while people who really did NEED the item got screwed.

Heh yeah those HM's got pretty boring for me personally as I helped gear around 9 or so people up to raid level so I ran them over and over again at least 3 to 4 a day every day for weeks on top of that weekly raiding. And compared to some other games I have played those HM's were just a little too easy the raids too.

Yeah I am finding with my main Sage that now that I'm pretty well geared and have done some of them several times they are getting easy, but that's true of anything you do repetitively. I don't think it's possible to make an MMO that isn't completely focused on PvP in which that won't eventually be true. And personally I despise PvP, there are just too many jerks who figure out a way to scam the system and then lord it over you. Being defeated by superior tactics I can take, because I can learn from my mistakes and try again next time, but when somebody finds and exploit that they rape and then gloat about it, it just kills the joy. And it seems that this is about 99.99% of PvP players.

Vaspiira In reply to WickedPrince [2012-07-16 09:44:03 +0000 UTC]

Heh it is most always just about flavor of the month with pvp. And mostly its just a gear fest and not at all skill related, why I am not a fan of pvp gear tiers... give everyone the same set by default and let them slug it out with tactics and skill. That being said my 4 man team for huttball was awesome nearly never lost. We picked our classes and trees based on what would play together best and benefit us most. Which at that time was a Sorc healer with friendly pull ( me ) a Tank Juggernaut with intercede and leaping at others a marauder for the speed buff and a bounty hunter hybrid dps/heals for support healer and control of the middle for when we reset the ball. It worked very nicely.

WickedPrince In reply to Vaspiira [2012-07-18 19:48:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's hard to find a balance with some things. I mean you want to reward the people who stick to the game, and to doing parts of the game like PvP, at the same time you don't want to make it seem like a long painful slog of taking your beat-downs before you get your rewards. So from that standpoint I understand the idea of earning your better gear. PvE works the same way really. And from what I've seen of other MMOs things essentially work the same. Once you've reached max level it's all about continuing to slog through stuff until you acquire better loots so it's easier to acquire better loots. My biggest gripe about the game is the crafting system. I really hate that I put so much effort into maxing out a craft, and all I get to show for it is two pieces of Rakata stuff I can only make for my own character that ultimately don't affect anything. A smart person would simply grab 3 scavenge skills and rape the environment for scavengable matts to sell and skip crafting altogether - since you can nearly always purchase better anyways.

I've played through the Republic-side stories for every class except Trooper - waiting until they open the Cathar for that. My distaste for the cover mechanic that the Imp Agent and Smuggler "have" to use makes me unwilling to go through that again now that I have a nearly maxed Gunslinger so I'm working on a Bounty Hunter, and will do a Warrior and Inquisitor to try out their stories to the conclusion. With the shared buffs for all my toons on the new server and with crafters of every type except Armortech in my stable all the new toons have to do is scavenge anyways.

I started a Marauder (L44) and an Assassin (L22) on other servers where they are now orphans, so I figure I'll try a Juggernaut and a Sorcerer instead where I can support them with gear from the other toons. Just trying to decide what races to make them that will look cool. I'm not sold on Purebloods and Ratataki, neither really looks that interesting to me - and Cyborgs, bleh - but that leaves me with Zabrak and Twi-leks again since I never play Humans if I have an alternative - I pretend to be human every day, why do it in a RPG?
