i wanna turn that fungus into something that makes cats more aggressive and helps them recover from injuries (even when they get shot), and then i gonna put some of these fungi in the jungle, and then i wait until the first wood thieves find mutated tigers that can still be shot, but just stand up again after a few hours or so...

they´re not zombies. they are still tigers, just in symbiosis with a fungus that gives them an highly increased healing factor (and may or may not "accidentally mutate" to get to humans that got bitten, which alters their mind in a way that they are still able to think and use their knowledge, but they fight for the jungle now).
