Description Karma [link] found a character called Moko-chan who has a striking resemblance to Maxine. After a bit of digging, it turned out she was a mascot for Japanese model creating company Tamiya, and appeared in instructional materials. So here's Max dressed in one of the outfits worn by Moko-chan.

As it happens to work out, I had a Tamiya model as a kid though there were no illustrations in the instructions, which were printed in English. It was a wooden robot, made of six very un-robotic chunks of wood which I was expected to assemble along with some mechanical parts that would make it walk. Did it work? I was eleven at the time, and I had never done this sort of thing before, so... no.

Hey, I remember that company, they did it on my plane and helicopter models before, damn, how can I forget all that hard work and gluing assembling was needed to get the job done.

Ah yes, Moko - often as a guide to assembly of radio controlled cars. She's quite old now. I had her in literature from mid 80s.
